The Museum of Liverpool are allowing the destructuon of the true archaeology of #Wirral in favour of a warped version for their friends' benefit. Sad to see it happen over the years π’π How much true archaeology & history has been lost? #Archaeology

Congratulations! That sounds an incredibly rigourous selection process 2.5 years. I have learnt so much from the English Heritage and other videos you have appeared in about Stonehenge. (Then found a preselli bluestone artefact on Wirral). Keep up the brilliant work! π

Sensing a trend in the sculpture, clearly very significant to the artist and the community they lived amongst...2 other similar pieces from the same site...banded chert and an oak figurative sculpture ππ Clearly, ritual, ceremonial with deep significance to the maker(s) as well as being art.

There's something very wrong when archaeologists from other areas say the artefacts from this project are important but locally the Museum says no!π...π www.prehistoricwirral.com/response-to-...

Looks like there are 3 archaeology orgs with Wirral and Archaeology in their name. 'Wirral & North Wales Archaeology' are registered with H & H Assoc.

πΆSo there are 2 organisations called Wirral Archaeology but 1 became a CIC?πΆBoth doing exactly the same archaeology projects/investigations on Wirral. And the same people are members of both, per public photos & videos. How confusing is that?! πThank you for clarifying. It's as clear as mud!

The difference between this project & Steve's company @wirralarchaeology.bsky.social is this project is entirely independent & self-funding, whereas WACIC have claimed 10s of thousands in public/taxpayer money for doing what they are doing, for the public benefit, therefore open to public scrutiny.

And there is both the looking after the physical sites and museums, and staffing etc., as well as providing online information. On the EH websites you can do both great research for learning and also get good information prior to visiting.π

I think that English Heritage do brilliant work. Their website and videos on Youtube are so informative, I have learnt so much from them. English Heritage represent important sites across the country. National orgs should get a bit more, as looking after more?

That is not the blog post I replied to. I replied to Steve's of 14-15 February on his other 'Steve's Viking Wirral' blog spot. I have the screenshot of it and it isn't the same as the one you have just posted. The original has been removed I am not prepared to read or reply again.

massive fraud and corruption and a warping of the true archaeology and history of Wirral. The company also claim huge amounts of public/taxpayer funding for doing this. The public are expected to buy into it in every way. A very warped version of Wirral's history at public expense in every way.

claiming to be found in one farmer's field at Clatterbridge by an archaeology company Wirral Archaeology CIC who have a "lead archaeologist" use professional equipment like geophys and carry out extensive organised excavations/investigations hence don't qualify to use the Scheme. This is just..π§΅

Of course Irish history on Wirral and Merseyside goes back to Prehistory. It's ancient, the cultural connections-Brittonic, Gaelic, etc., Iberia-Cornwall-Ireland-Wirral-Scotland the lands of our ancestors. The evidence is still very much here from prehistory too. π
