I'm the head of the board for my kid's sports club, and when I requested volunteers for board members and other roles, do you know who answered the call? Moms. Moms who are already doing tons of stuff. Not one single dad in a 100+ member club.

Back in the 00s I volunteered as a guest reader in a Title I elementary school, and the teachers said that many kids just didn't get much reading time at home. There wasn't one kid who wasn't amped to be read to. Many of those kids are probably parents now, and I hope they're still excited by books.
