Both my Daidí and my mate want me to go padded 24/7. Following your stuff has certainly had an impact on my willingness to do it.

I think a lot of it comes down to the sunk cost fallacy, and hoping that it will return to what it was, so they don't have to restart building a presence.
It's not apathy or laziness, it's an emotional blind spot creating an inability to see that their hope is unfounded.
