You’re both wrong. They are doing everything that can be done and yet there is only so much that they can do. Reality. But the only response Republican districts have had to this is when they felt the pain themselves so this may have benefits despite the Democrats lacking the power to stop it.

AP could have been cowardly and rolled over for Trump. “We had to comply or we’d lose [funding/access/privileges]” like so many orgs are doing. It would have been easy for them to say “gulf of America” But it never stops there. They got the memo. Good job AP.

While it’s of course not true that all federal retirement records are processed wholly on paper in a random cave, it is true that paper is a significantly better and more reliable storage technology than digital.

Where is the film maker who can quickly make a conspiracy theory type film like the Red Pill Media types about what Elon Musk and Big Balls are doing? That’s the kind of hook we need for far right whites.

Next up, they will attempt to destroy the Bureau of Labor Statistics to make accurate reporting of employment numbers impossible. They will re-mix the covid-era "if we stop testing for covid, we'ed have very few cases" but for the economy.

Anti-DEI is an attack on civil rights by segregationists. Most white "allies" are completely silent while segregationists attack Black people and our civil rights. These silent "allies" without a shred of shame or self-awareness, fully expect Black voters to make sacrifices to save them at midterms

“This is moving very quickly compared to other administrations, and I think, across the board, he’s done some very good things,” Grothman said. Boos and shouts erupted around the room.

Yep, and Coates's old essay on this calling Trump the "first white president" is spot-on too.

The problem for white men who despise DEI from the left like Matt Ygelsias is now the Trump Administration is actively working to resegregate America. Pick a side.

She's right. Trump is reinstating segretation. Keep POC (and women) out of power. Segregation = enshrine mediocrity and economic stagnation. Just look at the deep south in the early 20th century.

Yup.

THIS PART

Awesome thread, great follow.

Awesome.

Several good things are happening according r/fednews so I am going to drop them here. If federal workers are fighting back, how much more us? A thread/

KANSAS: Rep. Tracey Mann is the latest to hear about how Republicans are abdicating their responsibilities at a town hall. (Tennessee folks — town halls are where elected officials show up and you can ask them questions in person. Other states have those, believe it or not)

If the bros try to prop up Bernie again after they 86’d Joe? They better not say a f-ing word about Jeffries. They’re doing it. You watch.

We are arms dealers to terrorists.

This is a shameful way to treat our fellow citizens who are public servants. This doesn’t make America great.

I don't think one permanently incapacitates Trump without a Supermajority of Dems in the House and Senate. Everyone who analyzes Biden's presidency assumes a Better Dem would have Done Better, but the reality is that factors both known and unknown would have locked us into similar outcomes.

The media has repeated this lie since 2008, “Obama promised to bridge the racial divide but now America is more divided than ever…” as though he were somehow responsible for racism. I will never forgive.

Cancel the Starlink contract, Doug Ford. This is what it would be used for by Muskolini, espionage and coertion.

Secretary Turner wants to cancel HUD programs that serve seniors and people with disabilities. Harming seniors and vulnerable Americans does not make our government more efficient. Senator Warren, Senator Smith, and I are holding this Administration accountable.

This is very, very bad. Am working on a write-up, but let’s just say that firing military leaders for blatantly political reasons is wildly inappropriate; firing all the too lawyers is ominous; firing them all at the same time is a terrifying five-alarm fire

Gov. Mills: I’ll comply with the state and federal laws Trump: We are the federal law. You better do it because you’re not going to get any federal funds. Gov Mills: See you in court

But this is why we shouldn’t rely on private companies for security.

Sick.

What Biden accomplished, given his margins, is nothing short of masterful.

Imagine if Biden kept firing people and then immediately having to reinstate them, or cutting off funds and then immediately having to restore them. The media would call it grossly incompetent and they be right.

Good to see the power of the people is still alive. We the people govern ourselves in a democracy.

Imagine having a distinguished career ending because of a mediocre “businessman” and a hack news network anchor with less military accolades than you.

On this day in 1956, Rosa Parks and other civil rights activists were unjustly arrested for organizing the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Today, decades later, we continue to honor and recognize the strength of these brave organizers who helped pave the way for the civil rights movement.

Yup. It’s sickening.

Some of you think you’re woke and ready, but your skin is still too thin for truth and reality.

NEW: The Trump administration has locked Minnesota out of $200 million in federal food and climate grants awarded last summer. Projects breaking ground this year were depending on that money. minnesotareformer.com/2025/02/21/t...

Democrats delivered the Postal Service Reform Act to fight for our postal workers and the Postal Service. Trump and DOGE just want to turn the clock back to when he was trying to ruin the Postal Service. We will not stop fighting for the Postal Service. www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...
