Same here. My bookshelves are packed and I have a living room stack and a bedroom stack that I try to keep to a less-than-lethal height. I could never get into reading on a device either. Audiobooks saved me when I was commuting 3-5 hours every day.

Do you prefer physical books, audio or ebooks? Roughly speaking - what is your ratio of borrowed:bought? Your taste in books is similar to mine so Iā€™m wondering what your bookshelves look like.

this is zizekā€™s metaphor of inserting a vibrator into a fleshlight and getting on with oneā€™s day

And, women, if you value your right to vote, thank a suffragette with a brick. Suffragettes tossed bricks through windows to show that the government cared more about broken windows than women in both the US and the UK. 6/7

I assumed so, but Iā€™ve never seen anyone use them in a pool.

I am simultaneously jealous of people who learned to swim in non-terrifying environments and content with the knowledge itā€™s one less publicly humiliating way that Iā€™m likely to die.

Oh hell. I can barely swim as it is. I donā€™t red anything that makes it harder! Iā€™m like 94.7% lead thanks to all that paint in the walls when we were kids.

I know everything feels bad and you need a pick me up, but maybe some cat photos can help?

Has this gotten any better in the months since you posted?

Uniformity isnā€™t hard when you absolutely lack any semblance of depth or personality.

I grinned when I saw that too.

Our adult daughter has significant cognitive & physical disabilities & weā€™ve worried about the same thing. They genuinely want everyone who is sick, disabled or older to die. Itā€™s horrific.

What are they?

Whoa. I thought theyā€™d all shut down like 20 or 30 years ago. I hope itā€™s in the same hood as the Last Blockbuster.

But did you have a Ryanā€™s Steakhouse or Ponderosa?

Yup. @bellmore.bsky.social is in St. Louis for the Frozen Four this weekend and he drove because all the flight options either sucked or were absurdly expensiveā€¦and then thereā€™s the ā€œwill I die due to Trumpā€™s BS?ā€ factor.
