Great way to connect with other educators, #LTHEchat @lthechat.bsky.social. One hour of stimulating online conversation and resource sharing! #AberPGCTHE #AcademicSky #EduSky

One hour to go to get ready for #LTHEchat about #edtech we have loved and lost with @nomadwarmachine.bsky.social and @emmadw.bsky.social Read the blog lthechat.com/2025/02/24/l... follow the hashtag #LTHEchat is that easy.

I’m enjoyed the blog not least because it’s quite difficult to keep on top of changes when you are no longer attached to an institution. Sudden changes can readily throw you off kilter.

I’m now practising like anything as I get ready for going in in a couple of weeks time

Yes it was scary

Great idea. I fear it might be a bit triggering though. #goodolddays #LTHEchat

@kaysambell.bsky.social and in use narrated PowerPoints to good effect. Reusable too

Notebooks, amaryllis bulb growing kit, chocolate, book about British wildlife ( I bought myself books about bumblebees, British trees and birds last year)

Buying @nationaltrust.bsky.social life joint membership in our fifties with @philrace.bsky.social

Just 5 days to go! I can’t wait to see this in hard copy 🤩

So I’ve been trying to sum up what I’ve achieved in the last week in 5 bullet points!so far I’ve got volunteering with reading in school, working on our community garden, taking my Toucan tins collection to the food bank, cooking lots of meals &becoming totally enraged with what’s happening in the US

Yes I do say something about the term Anglo-Saxon, but that’s what the curriculum says and they are only eight-year-olds! But I will read some more about what you’re saying before I venture in to get them excited about Sutton Hoo

It’s due to arrive today! Every year at the local primary school where I volunteer I go&talk about the Sutton Hoo ship burial about which I’m a bit obsessive when year4 are doing the Anglo-Saxons. I was just thinking I ought to brush up on Anglo-Saxon words for my session so this will help a lot!

My sister Helen Ball, Professor of Anthropology at the University of Durham, has spent most of the past year writing a book "How babies sleep: a factful guide to the first 365 days and nights". Registration for the 10th May launch conference is now open. pay.durham.ac.uk/event-durham... Pls share!

www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/... you might like to listen to the example of authentic assessment at the end of this episode @kaysambell.bsky.social

Marvellous

@hanavideen.bsky.social I so Enjoyed hearing you on @michaelrosenyes.bsky.social on @bbcradio4.bsky.social Word of mouth I’ve just bought your book

Trust me, editing a book is much harder than writing one

Thanks: these are great pictures

Oh look @kaysambell.bsky.social ! We went there!

@kaysambell.bsky.social that’s an awful lot of views and downloads Kay!

Have you seen this @penarthkate.bsky.social in respect of your earlier queries?

The big issue is scability Naomi with massive HE classes. Hence our global work on alternative more authentic assessments that can be used with big groups

Thanks for sharing this!

It’s not too late to donate! 👇

All the well when I was reading this, I was wondering whether it was the 1st of April

Q1. Do you use analogue games for learning, or have you experienced these as a learner? Share your examples #LTHEChat

#lthechat i’m here:I used to love creating board games: an old projects years ago @kaysambell.bsky.social and colleagues created a wonderful snakes&ladders game when they ran the CETL on assessment4learning. Nowadays my board game is mostly dominoes that I convene for the pensioners in my street.

This is a great blog about analogue games-based learning and some of the language, opportunities and challenges around this. It's well worth a read and suggests it will be another interesting #LTHEchat tomorrow, 8-9pm

And women

This is exactly the example I cited of discrimination against caregivers when I was doing my masters degree decades ago: getting us to hand in an assignment at the end of half term because many of us were teachers, forgetting many of us were parents!

The latter

I really like that. “ If you know the way, show the way”

Rubbish. I was 75 this weekend and @philrace.bsky.social is 80
