Well the pardon power is in the Constitution, and the criminal was duly elected according to the Constitution and law. Explain how the Constitution allows trump to suspend the elections

Fuel grade uranium is 3-5%, and we produce about 8,000 Tu annually. Our plutonium is contained inside the spent CANDU fuel so it's not really usable. It would be far easier to source nuclear weapons from the UK and France.

... political violence becomes legitimate protest. Turmp can use that political violence to make up something that isn't something the Constitution says he can do and seize total and complete control. Your risking a self fulfilling prophecy. And you still haven't explained how he can cancel them.

"well I guess if I'm wrong about this [one thing] I must be wrong about everything then! Hitler was actually terrific!" Pretending there won't be midterms distracts from what turmp is doing now, and legitimizes him If there won't be any elections in 2026, then we're at the stage where political...

You were right up to that bad faith as shit, "if you believe everything is okay" It's not unsettling to me, it's annoying. Very, very, very, annoying that so many people (you aren't the only one) handle being wrong so poorly that they basically throw a little tantrum and say...

What do you think happens when trump issues an executive order? Do you think magic shoemaker elves come out at night and magically turn in action?

To start, uranium refined reactor fuel isn't great for making bombs, and you are wrong about our stockpiles. Second, we don't enrich uranium, so if we wanted to build something smaller, which is better for deploymen, we'd have to start

What about everyone else?

I wish I could say Dems stood a chance of taking back the Senate with enough votes they could convict on impeachment, but too many people like you are going to sit out the election claiming it was "fake" rather than admit you could possibly have been wrong.

JFC. I never said everything was good, you doomerist shit. I just haven't buried my head up my own ass to justify doing nothing except crying about how we're all doomed. Elections will happen in 2 years, but there's a lot of other damage trump can do before then.
comment in response to post
I'm not talking about refining uranium, I'm talking about building the actual weapon.

The Constitution was always just words on pieces of parchment. The Constitution has been violated numerous times over the last 2.5 centuries, that's what the courts are for. And yes, the courts are working on it. Whether or not they do stop trump, trump listens are other matters.

It has nothing to do with faith. It's fine to speculate about "what if turmp..." but tell me how he actually carries that out. Did you read up on US election laws, the Constitution, and martial law before you decided that trump could do this or did you just decide it would happen because Hitler?
comment in response to post
I am. I've also read your Constitution a few times, and am rather familiar with your election laws. So I ask you again, why do you think there won't be elections in 2 years.
comment in response to post
If we started today, it would still take us several years to build the process necessary to make that uranium into usable weapons.

He can wipe his ass with the Constitution all he wants. He cannot stop the states from holding elections, or new members of Congress from being sworn in.

Explain why you're not. I'll wait.

Tell me how republicans can suspend the Constitution, and elections, without plunging the country into civil war.
comment in response to post
No, German parliament did that. When they passed the enabling act. And I shouldn't need to say this, but for some reason I do: The US does not have the same Constitution as the Weimar Republic did.
comment in response to post
In that respect at least, the election of trump has been a blessing.
comment in response to post
Please read the US Constitution before you type something that makes you look foolish. ...I mean again.
comment in response to post
Trump can't do that
comment in response to post
Martial law does not suspend elections.
comment in response to post
And the US Constitution? I admit I'm not a constitutional scholar, just a guy who has read it a few times, but I don't recall a section that allows for it to be suspended, and certainly not by a simple majority vote
comment in response to post
...it would be because they'd failed.

If trump causes a depression (good chance) dems could get the votes necessary to impeach and remove from office. But even controlling one house will enable Dems to block Trump's "agenda" As for behind the scenes: failures are known, successes are not. If we knew about such a group of patriots...
comment in response to post
Have you studied the Weimar Republic extensively? What about the US? Which part of the US Constitution allows Congress to suspend it, by a simple majority vote?
comment in response to post
Um...do you not understand what the military is?
comment in response to post
Why not?

He carries grudges the size of Manhattan over a joke, and whether it's true or not, he thinks he'll be prosecuted again after he leaves office, again. The only way for him to stay out of jail after he leaves office, is to never leave office, or to make sure there isn't a government left to jail him
comment in response to post
They don't control Congress now, either chamber. Dems would need to gain 19 seats in the Senate to have the votes to convict trump. That's not going to happen without a lot of ground work starting now, and unfortunately for things to get a lot worse
comment in response to post
What do you expect the military to do at this point?
comment in response to post
It's not about waiting two years, it's that if SCOTUS won't stop trump, and there's no red line he can cross with republicans, the only real opportunity Dems will have to stop him is if they take control of Congress with enough votes to impeach him.
comment in response to post
There isn't a single Democrat who thought trump could be controlled if he was given power
comment in response to post
No they absolutely have two years to flip seats. But that's it. So they need to start working now, tying trump to as many awful things that are happening as they can, and to the republican Senators that are doing nothing to stop it.
comment in response to post
I have no doubt of that, whatsoever.

Yes, even if your assessment is negative for ADHD, you still need to rule out other issues. That's why I prepared a list of questions for my assessment doctor about alternative diagnosis, in case my assessment was negative. I can't imagine what it must have been like for your sister...
comment in response to post
So you're not going to tell me who will treat the doctor's other patients when the doctor is in jail for performing an abortion?
comment in response to post
It's too early into his term. The market could recover by the midterms and people forget how awful he is.
comment in response to post
Doctors are still not required to swear it. Doctors still cannot be required to violate the law, especially a felony law, by their code of conduct. So why don't you answer my question instead of trying incredibly bad faith arguments? What happens to the doctor's other patients if they are in jail?
comment in response to post
You've been years getting to this point. It's the only thing that makes sense for the chaos inside your brain, and if you're not ADHD, then all the people who told you when you were growing up that you were lazy and undisciplined are right...
comment in response to post
Maybe do that yourself, because: a) doctors are not required to swear the Hippocratic Oath; b) their code of conduct cannot require them to violate the law, and; c) *Hippocratic. And then answer this question: If the doctor is jailed, who treats their other patients?

If the US doesn't have elections in 2028, blue states will secede and the US will again be at war with itself. So if you really believe the US won't have elections in 2028, you should be making plans now to get off the continent, because we will be collateral damage from that war.
comment in response to post
What you should be concerned with is who the gop run to replace turmp is 2028. Turmp is limited by his own inepitude and bombasticy. A traditional republican candidate like Nikki Haley could easily win in 2028, and do far more damage than what trump is doing so far.
comment in response to post
Dude. You need to stop with the doomerism. As you said, these are not normal times; there is plenty of shit to worry about. You don't need to make up new shit to worry about. Olges has not introduced a bill to remove presidential term limits because that's not a thing that can be done.
comment in response to post
They are members of Congress who took an oath to perform their duties and adhere to the Constitution. Part of that means that they have to try and keep the government functioning even as another part of it is trying to blow it up.

That's not true. Snake oil salesmen have a very special relationship with their gullible rubes.
