Congratulations to @prsdiversity.bsky.social researchers @eimearekenny.bsky.social and @genandgenes.bsky.social, featured in @geneticssociety.bsky.social #WomensHistoryMonth

πŸ“£ Excited to share our new tutorial with @training.ebi.embl.org ! The course covers the basics of polygenic scores and describes the PGS Catalog resources (buff.ly/L8e6a3J, including pgsc_calc), a great overview of the area. Access the course online at buff.ly/CEBWMio!

πŸ‘€πŸ”– Curious how a research consortium manages sharing data to collaborate on improving genetic risk prediction in global populations? Check out this new preprint from the @prsdiversity.bsky.social data sharing working group! arxiv.org/abs/2502.09351 1/

So fantastic that NPR featured the unexplained troublingly high rates of heart disease among S Asian individuals, and our research efforts with the OurHealth Study to address these issues! www.npr.org/2025/02/11/n... @broadinstitute.org @prsdiversity.bsky.social

πŸ“ΉπŸΏπŸ§¬ Check out @yunfeng-ruan.bsky.social's recent talk at the @broadinstitute.org, "Polygenic risk scores: method development and application" in our growing collection of videos on the @prsdiversity.bsky.social website primedconsortium.org/education#vi...

πŸ“£ πŸ‘€ 🧬 Join @prsdiversity.bsky.social and @geneticssociety.bsky.social tomorrow for a journal club on developing polygenic risk scores in diverse populations

We're delighted to have the @prsdiversity.bsky.social Perspective featured in the Genomics Landscape, the NHGRI Director's monthly newsletter, https://buff.ly/3PsUJjF. The Perspective outlines goals, approaches, and ongoing activities, including new PRS methods and models.

πŸ‘€ πŸ“‘ Join @prsdiversity.bsky.social investigators at the @geneticssociety.bsky.social January 15 journal club! Details and registration belowπŸ‘‡

It’s out! New Hastings Center Special Report: Envisioning a More Just Genomics. πŸ“£ πŸ‘ Read, bit.ly/40dX48h This special report is a collaboration between The Hastings Center and the Center for ELSI Resource and analysis (CERA) @elsihub.bsky.social #Bioethics #Genomics #Genetics

πŸ‘€ πŸ“† Mark your new 2025 calendars for the Jan 15 @geneticssociety.bsky.social journal club, where Iftikhar Kullo @mconomos.bsky.social and @blueyedgenes.bsky.social will present the PRIMED Perspective paper www.cell.com/ajhg/fulltex.... Register for free at learning.ashg.org/products/ove...

πŸŽ† Ring in the new year by reviewing the PRIMED Consortium's progress on improving genetic risk prediction in diverse genetic ancestry populations. See our Research Highlights https://buff.ly/4iUpmfw and video collection https://buff.ly/4iKIbli

πŸ‘€πŸŽ‰ Check out our new PRIMED (Polygenic Risk Methods in Diverse Populations) Consortium starter pack! go.bsky.app/RFJRsTt

πŸŽ‰ We'll look forward to adding Bluesky mentions to the next @altmetric.com report for all PRIMED Consortium publications, which we post on our website: primedconsortium.org/publications...

πŸ‘€πŸ”– Thank you for this compilation @shaicarmi.bsky.social - the @prsdiversity.bsky.social consortium reviewed several PRS methods for diverse populations in this @naturerevgenet.bsky.social 2023 commentary led by @lindakachuri.bsky.social and Tian Ge, pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37620596/

Work by PhD student @jayatirsharma.bsky.social on how grouping Hispanic/Latino participants into a single group can obfuscate substantial substructure, leading to false conclusions. We show how heterogeneity by background group wrt genetic ancestry and environment can affect genetic risk models.

New preprint! Within the HCHS/SOL study, we looked at the roles of self-identified background and genetic ancestry in describing GxE interactions of a PGS and sociocultural variables in a Hispanic/Latino population. www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1...

If you're interested in the PGS Catalog Calculator we're hosting a free training webinar @ebi.embl.org on December 4th: www.ebi.ac.uk/training/eve... (registration required). Come along, or catch up with the recording after! cc @iamslambert.bsky.social

Hello Bluesky! The PRIMED Consortium is bringing together researchers and data from across the globe to develop new polygenic risk score methods and improve risk prediction across diverse populations. Read more in our recently published Perspective 🧡 1/ www.cell.com/ajhg/fulltex...
