Yeah. Not sure which ones are worse, the ones who couldn't find Ukraine on a map, or the ones so naive that they thought their own personal taxes would go down if we betray Ukraine. Stupidity sucks.

I keep thinking about the debt-limit hostage-taking shutdowns and how much they ultimately ended up costing us. And then I wonder how expensive it will ultimately be to fix all the damage this DOGE "cost saving" will cause.

Absolutely no reason to believe anything that comes out of DOGE.

Of course this is bullshit, but also if trillions were being injected into the US economy this way, it would represent a non-trivial % of US consumer purchasing power and we'd have to treat it like a load-bearing wall, fraud or not.

Hey #Canada, hope it goes without saying, but we still ❤️ you. I know this is no excuse, but Trump only says stuff like this because he has a very, very small penis.

Yeah. I think a lot of people inside the orange curtain would be surprised by the degree to which everything Trump does and says projects weakness to the rest of the world. The inability of so many Americans to see Trump for what he is... that ain't a good look either.

If I try to listen to this from the perspective of NATO allies who are watching Trump unilaterally surrender to Putin on Ukraine's (and Europe's) behalf, Hegseth sounds like a coward making lame tough-guy-sounding excuses for why he won't get your back.

"Employees will cease any and all consumer-protecting until further notice." Jerks.

I just think his default setting is stupid and lazy, and this has only gotten worse over time. It's hard to tell where his mental illness ends and his declining acuity begins.

That's not to say that I don't believe Trump is an evil, lying snakeball of insecurities, hatred and malice with a soul so shriveled as to make him capable of anything...

I do not believe that Trump himself knew what he was going to say about Gaza until the moment he said it, and does not now understand the implications of what he said despite what I'm sure was a harrowing task someone had to take on to explain it to him.

I think the California water-faucet thing, owning Greenland, freeze-then-no-freeze, tariffs-then-no-tariffs stuff is genuine stupidity at work (with bit of dementia for flavor), not genius.

There are certainly people around Trump who understand how the chaos benefits their side, but I'm still very skeptical about the 4D-chess, strategic distraction, madman tactical negotiator theories about Trump himself.

How hard is it for Dems to say, "it's too early to know if the chaos that followed the President's incompetent actions this week was a factor. The fact that the federal workforce includes people who are not white males was not a factor."

Alabama is an ongoing slow-moving catastrophic disaster that has burned for so long now that I guess we've all just forgotten that decent states like California have been subsidizing their shit-show for decades?

Haha, 2025 is like the 27th annual Year of Linux Desktop. (Also, year 26 of, "Is Linux dying?") (Also, thank you Zed team for the awesome Linux desktop version)

Thank you! Yes, absolutely no-one should be asking Trump about Greenland before first asking why he nominated Gaetz for AG, whether he knew about the sex and drugs, and why his vetting process seems to produce so many failures.

Complete failure. CNN is treating this nonsense like news, so we don't have to discuss boring stuff like Gaetz or Musk's legislative win on Chinese investments or polio. When was the last time CNN even mentioned Trump stealing nat'l security documents?

Found on @nanagale.bsky.social ‘s account earlier. Honestly, if the country of the happiest people on the planet were to buy the US and mandate Hygge and Light, we could do worse over the next decade or so, so 🤷‍♀️ Something something welcome our Danish overlords something something… (it’s a JOKE)

These days I think a lot about why it's counter-productive to call Trump supporters stupid. You end up down at their level, they dig in rather than doing better, it just fuels their outrage, they end up walking around in garbage bags, etc., etc. But FFS, y'all, how do they remember how pants work?
