HI THERE DOCTORS IN AMERICA WOULD YOU LIKE TO ESCAPE THE END TIMES? WOULD YOU LIKE TO NOT BE ARRESTED FOR TREATING WOMEN? WANT TO LIVE IN A PROGRESSIVE CITY WITH NO GUNS AND ACCESSIBLE HEALTHCARE? Come practice in Victoria, British Columbia, where this is a 15-minute walk from the downtown core.

This is the way. #transit www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Yes, absolutely right and it just so happens that Seth might have a good book to recommend on this topic. (Spoiler: it’s “A Good War: Mobilizing Canada for the Climate Emergency”). The prescription for dealing with the current US regime is the same.

Agreed, everything about this is deeply disappointing, especially council caving to the least vulnerable at the expense of the most vulnerable.

Thanks again Dave, I wish we had more like you!

Beth is amazing. No pulling punches, no both-sidesing, no “thanks for the table scraps,” just laying it all out clearly with passion.

Humans are poorly equipped to deal with success. We need challenge so we invent it in horrific ways. We could seek out positive personal challenges, tackle wider issues, or help others join us in success, but instead we invent fictional enemies and subvert our success. Knowing this, choose better.

Wow: “The parents, if they could, would drive right down the front hallway and drop their kid off at the classroom…” Car-brain is off the charts.

Hello Quadra St. in @saanichbc.bsky.social

There’s the solution @saanichbc.bsky.social. If more than 6 stories is too much, then allow 6 everywhere. Absolutely everywhere.

As a Canadian, I heard about how America's 'checks and balances' protect them from tyranny since I was a child. We learned from US TV that Americans would fight tooth and nail to preserve their democracy and their constitution. So it's weird to watch them just roll over to a pair of con-men.

Good job View Royal! I've been advocating internally at City of Victoria to ditch our X/Twitter account. Hopefully we can do that soon. www.timescolonist.com/local-news/v... #yyj

Taking action is way better than complaining. Phil shows the way.

Canada tried high-speed rail in 1968 but gave up in the face of challenges. France persevered through challenges (including gas turbines). Japan persevered. We gave up. Imagine where we could be today! 19 hours on trains today has me lamenting that missed opportunity! #trains #HSR

I’m going to say this again. Given that the Ontario Liberal, NDP and Green Parties are WELL AWARE of the likelihood that splitting the vote would hand the Doug Ford Conservatives another comfortable majority govt with a small % of the vote, I’d think they would put aside ambitions AND WORK TOGETHER.

On the train reading a book described as a “an important cautionary tale.” It seems like we need to pay more heed to cautionary tales.

Might be time to reconsider the trains we are purchasing from US factories. Thats an easy one to bring back to Canada.

local grocer was quick to display #MadeInCanada signs to help shoppers like me choose 🇨🇦 items, not 🇺🇸 ..how we push back against frump’s tariff madness. feel good that so far in 2025 I’ve been Amazon-free. now I see that my fave coconut yogurt is Canadian! 🍁 C-A-N-A-D-A 🍁

I took a little detour on my way to visit family in Ontario and got to attend The War on Cars and City Nerd’s event in NY. Live events are such an important complement to the online world! #thewaroncars #citynerd

Yes it feels strange to post this much about “politics.” I don’t really like doing it. But what’s happening isn’t politics. It’s far worse than we’re letting ourselves contemplate. You may just want to hear about city-building but we all have a moral obligation to speak out about what they’re doing.

Here in NY for #thewaroncars and #citynerd event. HMU if you want to explore the local urbanism on the day of or the day after the event.

Finally fully pulling the plug on Twitter. Too bad - I made friends and learned things there.

Mark Carney has already earned 2 of the most important & strategic jobs in the world, directly related to national economies (which is frequently referenced as the most important policy issue in most national elections including Canada’s). And he’s widely considered to have been great in those jobs.

Elon is a Nazi. Elon tweets support for Pierre Poilievre. Vote for the Lib or NDP candidate in your riding who is best positioned to beat the Nazi's favourite. #NeverPoilievre #CanadaSky #Canada #cdnpoli 🇨🇦 #yyc #yeg

Air pollution has dropped significantly in #Paris in the last 15 years. Mayor Anne Hidalgo’s leadership has traded car space for green space, safe bike space, kid space.. and traded pollution for people. Good trade.
