I wonder how many Paul, Weiss clients actually left because of Karp's Faustian deal, and if they will have the moral fortitude to tell us.

This could have been written by the original Quisling himself - but equal disgrace belongs to the Paul, Weiss clients threatening to withdraw and to all other law firms failing to speak out. Their lack of ethical mettle is now plain to see.

But does he now admit that it was always wrong to support such a warped character as Rubio, just as it is now wrong to support or vote for anyone morally flawed enough to remain in the Republican party?

Surely the Take Care clause implies that any presidential action must be faithfully lawful in order to be official, so that the Supreme Court's nonsensical immunity decision is rendered meaningless.

The more self-harm the US suffers now, the better for its future - if the voters learn not to elect another psychopathic vandal as POTUS or reward Republican enablers ever again, there may yet be a chance for national redemption.

This is diametrically wrong, the mistake that led Theresa May to humiliate Elizabeth II in vain by giving him a state visit. The only way to manage Trump is to get him and then keep him wanting a PR win from you.

Tell that to Coleridge, who wrote: "Myriad myriads of lives teem'd forth...", or to Shelley ("moonlit spires and myriad lamps"). As an adjective it has meant "existing in myriads" for more than least 200 years.

If Israel does expel Palestinians from Gaza it will have forfeited its own moral right to exist. I can't believe the Jewish people will allow Netanyahu and Trump to debase them forever in the eyes of humanity.

Putin would never dare to attack European capitals, any more than he would risk ordering a nuclear-weapon strike anywhere - because he fears (rightly) that he would be dead within minutes. The chain of command under him would all commit murder of him rather than suicide for him.

Contrarianism is the refuge of third-rate intellects, so it is always flourishing in reactionary circles. Vance barely scrapes into third-ratehood.

I wonder if Trump, in the bottomless depth of his ignorance, realizes that there is no Nobel prize for appeasement.

Not enough people will be staggered. For the past 8 years I have expected Americans to ask themselves, regarding Trump, "What were we thinking?" But apparently the chronic mass hysteria episode is stronger than American rationality, and the nation has taken leave of its moral senses.

This is appalling - evidently some people can't find a way to be against the Israeli government without resorting to anti-Semitism. Why don't they take a lead from many honourable Jews who vehemently oppose Netanyahu?

So there will be a raft of impeachments after the mid-term election, when the US voters can (partly) redeem themselves by giving the Democrats power to make Hakeem Jeffries the 48th POTUS.

It took me 2 hours longer, and I am 2 years younger. Keep leading the way!

Trump lost this fight because his intelligence is as low as his cunning. It may take 20 or perhaps even 50 years to fix the damage he can do to America, but the damage done by America to the world in electing such a man as head of state is irredeemable.

Aren't government departments usually named for what they are to focus on? In this case, surely, the Department of Government Inefficiency - DOGI- would be a better name - and acronym, at least out loud.

Democrats need to remember that the electorate is responsible, rather than Harris or even Biden. There is no problem afflicting the USA to which a rational answer or sane response is to vote for Trump. A great nation has taken leave of its moral senses. America has soiled itself.
