Thanks for the great thread. One question I'm often thinking about in this context: all of these new developments come from the US, but since bird flu is pandemic in birds, isn't it likely that the same (infection of livestock, transmission to humans) is happening in other places in the world too?

Well, there's a whole world that still wants flu vaccines and I can't imagine that this selection process costs a lot. But of course it's not great – if not entirely unexpected – that RFK is causes trouble here...

Wahrscheinlich weil man nach Lösungsmöglichkeiten sucht und die sind halt lokal. Aber es ja fast überall so, und in anderen Ländern (z.B. USA) sind die Humanities schon seit Jahren unter Druck. Aber warum es gerade jetzt eine so große Bewegung in D gibt, würde mich schon interessieren...
