Ben Hanson championing some completely irrelevant XBLA era game that I had banished to the recesses of my mind, which has a ridiculous title like The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom

Lukebakio, coming off a rough season, inexplicably subs an on-fire Trossard. He serves up so many missed plays that he gets a humiliating sub just 30 minutes later. Brutal to watch. Possible mental career ender. As hard as he sucked, he should've just never been brought in.

There's an English translation. It's real clunky in that old SNES way, but it's kinda awesome what they tried to do

If you enjoy car crashes like I do, the full show floor visit also shows Superman 64 and a very early sighting of Duke Nukem Forever, among others
Someone with better, immediate knowledge than me can probably spot one or two games from this that never released.

I just read an exhaustive article on exactly how to play Mappy and I still can't pull it off. That's what the kids call a skill issue π€·ββοΈ
Gave it my best shot.

I forgot that I'm the world's worst player of Mappy. That's unfortunate.
Fun game tho

Forget visuals, because games look good as hell now and have since early on in the PS4 era. My discrepancy is that so many of these large games look like the same safe and boring world. We're overdue for a new Gravity Rush or anything from a large studio that isn't a gritty open world.

Oh, they are personally, they're just not very active. Hopefully that changes, because this is perfectly in line with what people on this app are into imo

The second game that blew me away was Lily's World XD, a psychological horror about trauma around expectancies and insecurities of womanhood, as seen through an online space from the early 2000s, using the dev's actual pics.
They need to get on Bluesky, they'd do crazy numbers β¨

Fundamentalism in Civilization II, which was modeled after Islam but whatever, cut your science input clean in half. In return, you could perform terrorism while the world watches. I know because that's a thing I write about recently etc etc

Called you out on having children. Fact checking expertise in real time.
Always like these different tone talks with outlets that aren't focused solely on gaming fans. Feels like getting in touch with the real world.

There are multiple survival horror farming games now. I know of at least 4 of them. Apparently a very large overlapping audience. I'm not against it, but it does seem like a very peculiar mixture.

I am watching the Wholesome direct instead, despite most of these games making my eyes glaze over. To its credit, it's slightly less overtly saccharine than previous years. It does still hit me like poison damage in a video game tho - ugh - agh - ack - urk - ugh

They updated the graphic to show more than the bare minimum, which was the right move. I'm going to maintain that there's a grain of salt of truth in my current statement.

At this point, he does. With every new embarrassment, it gets a lot harder for any onlooker to think about giving that game a chance, despite its shitty leadership. It's tied to the game itself indefinitely.
