Good to keep in mind with regards to storytelling. If something looks cool or makes an effective statement, just do it. There's no reason to over-explain and alienate the audience. "Don't worry about how it works. Just have faith that it does." It doesn't have to make sense, as long as it works.

Chuck Satterlee failed to pay two other artists I know, one of whom Chuck took EXTREME advantage of because they were new to the biz, eager, and trusting. He got them to draw 2 issues with no money up front by promising ownership/royalties, which, of course he wasn't good for.
