The Charles River Greenway is a real treasure. I don't say this often enough. Now, if we could just do something about Storrow Drive ...

The West Medford commuter rail station recently got level boarding platforms, making it an accessible station. Level boarding platforms are also great for people bringing luggage or bicycles on the train (which I do a couple of times per year).

Welcome to West Medford. It's a little business district centered around a commuter rail station. A few of the buildings could use some TLC, but overall it's super cute. This would be a great spot for transit-oriented development.

The library sent me a nice letter asking for money? Know what? I'm gonna give 'em some.

Weekly thread of #ArlingtonMA home sales. 15 properties changed hands, with three selling for less than a million dollars. Proof that you don't *need* a million dollars to live here, but it sure helps. 🙃

Arlington's MBTA Communities zoning has been in place for a little over one year. We've had one project which produced a change of +2 new homes. This week, we have a second applicant. Their proposal would add +1 new home. It's been crickets over here.

My neighbors moved to DC and put their house on the market. One-family attached, around 950 square feet on a 3000 square foot lot. Listed at $599,000 though I'm sure it sells for more. One of the best bargains in town.

This year's town meeting was 9 nights and 79 articles. There are three votes I'm particularly happy with. Rezoning B1 parcels to B2A. B1 is a very restrictive business district; B2A allows taller buildings and lots more uses. It's a way to put some of our commercial parcels to better use.

From a local mailing list. Not everyone is happy with Wednesday's budget votes.

Some things were not meant to be connected to the internet.

Night nine of #ArlingtonMA. Well, we finally wrapped it up. Article 64: a $100k appropriation to our Cable Access TV station. Their income stream has been suffering due to people cancelling their cable subscriptions. Passed, 191-19-1.

Car meets micromobility.

Fringe benefits of leaving the diner at closing time: staff offers you what's left of the day's donuts. Mmmm ... donuts.

One to watch: a North Carolina bill that would allow townhomes and two- through six-plexes in areas where single-family homes are currently allowed (provided there's water and sewer services available). www.ncleg.gov/BillLookUp/2...

The area around my suburban office park was unusally car sewery today. So glad I have other ways to get around.

Somedays, there's a lot of similarity between software development and squeezing a water balloon.

/me checks weather forecast and smiles, because I can wear shorts this week. 🙃
