It's bikeathon day! (aka, the annual fundraising ride for Bikes not Bombs). I've ridden a number of times. This year I decided to volunteer as a bike valet.

Thinks you can do with a cargo bike: transporting a table, chairs, plans, and a bike repair station to the local block party.

Happiness is being able to use Ctrl-r to recall all of your for loops.

June 2nd Arlington Redevelopment Board meeting. We had our second proposal for multi-family housing under the MBTA Communities Act. It would turn a four-plex into a five-plex. Three board members wanted changes, and the applicant will be back next month. www.srevilak.net/wiki/Arlingt...

The stuff going on in Cali right now is reminiscent of Occupy Oakland. But with ICE instead of Oakland PD.

This is a totally appropriate response: your mess, you deal with it.

Time for my weekly thread about #ArlingtonMA home sales. Ten this week, with three in the sub-million dollar range. Arlington is a dormitory community for folks that work in the Cambridge and Boston area, and our houses print money.

Success is not owning a high-end fancy car. Success is being able to get around without owning a car at all.

It would be an interesting popular revolt: everyone asks their employers to stop withholding taxes. Then at the end of the year, everyone fills in their 1040 with a bunch of zeros and waits for the IRS to contest their returns.

Massachusetts seriously loves its Dunkies.

This is a good-lookin' neighborhood.

TWF you type "mf" instead of "mv" and confuse the hell out of metafont.

I am sure we are at the beginning of a new month. The motherload of utility bills just dropped.

Yeah, feels like it's gonna rain.

/me goes to donate to the pro-bike lobby SuperPACs. I don't think we'll get a Cambridge without any cars. But a Cambridge with fewer cars would be cool.

It's 8pm and still over 80F. I am dripping-wet purple bandanna.

Spotted in an upcoming Boston MPO agenda: they're gonna be talking about road pricing. This is music to my ears, and I can't wait for the report.

Spotted this morning: a tee-shirt that said "It's just a linear algebra problem". Now I want one.

This may be a blue state phenomenon in general. Massachusetts tends to be similar.

Central St. has been getting a lot of love lately. Great to see it.

Today I learned that Winthrop Square is round. #MedfordMA

The Charles River Greenway is a real treasure. I don't say this often enough. Now, if we could just do something about Storrow Drive ...

The West Medford commuter rail station recently got level boarding platforms, making it an accessible station. Level boarding platforms are also great for people bringing luggage or bicycles on the train (which I do a couple of times per year).

Welcome to West Medford. It's a little business district centered around a commuter rail station. A few of the buildings could use some TLC, but overall it's super cute. This would be a great spot for transit-oriented development.

The library sent me a nice letter asking for money? Know what? I'm gonna give 'em some.
