There are better things to spend the money on. Fascinating as a Mars trip would be, there is no point. We can't live there.

Donated for around 20 years. A very worthwhile thing to do. (Health issues meant I had to stop.)
A Swiss doctor didn't believe we gave blood for a cup of tea and a biscuit.

Of course it's designed to benefit the rich. That is the reason felon Trump was allowed into the WH.

I can't see anything communist about N Korea.

I had the 1950s edition. Nuclear fusion was definitely 20 years off.
Otherwise, very informative.

Looks a bit sparse as globular clusters go.
I can't help wondering what the sky would look like from a planet inside a cluster.

I'm not sure what we are arguing about. We seem to agree on the basic points. I was perhaps being a bit flippant, but that's me!

I rely on my technology to skim over any adverts. Even "fact-focussed" ones. I was taught as a young child to treat all ads with suspicion. The words "scientifically proven" are the biggest turn-off. I don't like emotional food ads either.

I was just trying to make the point that right-wing nut jobs call themselves Christian, but regard Christian values as evil left-wing ideas.
comment in response to

I'm agreeing with you. I would regard it as common sense. But some of our UK right-wing nut jobs have some strange ideas of what constitutes "common sense".

I agree, but some people's "common sense" is downright stupid!

Anyone else remember Tiananmen Square?
Do your National Guard protect Americans, or Trumpists?

There is no place for truth in Trumpistan. (Can't be long before he renames it, so just jumping the gun (metaphorically).)

As others have said, look at burial records from before the availability of vaccines. So many young children. I can just remember the last polio epidemic.

The country was forged in ethnic cleansing and near genocide. Its subsequent history is of immigration, like the Trumps from Europe, Musk from S Africa and all the scientists fleeing fascism that gave the US such a boost.

And she wondered why?
Until she saw the sparrow's feathers
Coming through the dye."

Land of the free to commit crimes - as long as you are white, and home of the brave who hide behind masks, or in tanks.
