And here's how it all started with me and dear old Brian Flynn... #BookSky #ClassicCrime #GoldenAge @deanstpress.bsky.social classicmystery.blog/2019/08/25/b...

Not sure why Rupert went for the pictures for the Flynns - I did have a collection of scans. Matthias, though, does not contain a polar bear. There was a rationale for it, but I forget what

There's no "apparently" about it! Thanks for the share.

You're welcome. There are some first rate bloggers who are far better informed than me, some of whom don't use Blue Sky - yet. When I have time, I'll post some more of their work.

I'll pop the review of this one up later today. It's a mixed bag, to say the least.

I don't know any details, these are just guesses. TWITWardrobe reprint now goes for stupid prices second hand and it's the one title that I've got but have managed to lose. And that one is worth a read...

First impressions though, is that you're not missing much...

I think it's to do with both Peter and Antony writing this one. If you didn't notice, The Woman In The Wardrobe was pulled by the BL quite soon after publication too...

It's a really fun concept. The three actresses to play a classic sleuth - in old films, in a TV series and a new update - end up having to solve a real mystery. Am only halfway through, but it's fun so far.

Interesting that you pick those. I found them a bit varied due to a couple of them not really being mysteries. A Haunt Of Murder is a great blend, though, of ghost story and mystery. One of my first Doherty reads.

Really looking forward to this - was a bit worried that Chris had stopped doing them.

How many did you get?

No, I think it was (after checking Wikipedia) Dirty Tricks. Don't remember a thing about it, don't think I finished it.

I think way back when, I read a standalone that might have won the Gold Dagger. Didn't really like it...

Not read Dibdin - he's on my long list. I will read the last Fowler soon though, as then I can go back to the start...

Here's my review from (crikey!) almost thirteen years ago to try to convince you... classicmystery.blog/2012/07/21/t...

Agatha Christie but not sure Nemesis would be my first choice! Also Paul Doherty, John Dickson Carr, Brian Flynn are regular re-reads.

Hey, it's not top 5, it's officially the top 1! The people spoke (and that was before the reprint!) classicmystery.blog/2019/11/03/t...
