“Thankless” work seems in fact like the definitional opposite of electable or marketable

Most countries don’t even *have* either our nature or our scale to start with

“X wins by doing nothing” is a surprisingly common mode of geopolitical development

It’s funny how they gave the Trump design notably larger hands

Well in that case, good luck with your needles

Whyever would they have to be in Canadian sheds? In a full-on shooting conflict I doubt their SOF/enterprising locals would have any qualms with sneaking across the parallel to position munitions, possibly with sympathizers

oh damn

to do against a *rock*? Neither a sniper rifle nor anti-aircraft battery would be appropriate to engage that, probably. I guess you’re just betting that capitol police don’t ask any questions nor just tackle you at any point before you cut the rope?

Well, actually… huh It’s not a DD. If you could hypothetically get a full-size, medieval-ass trebuchet within the district, to like the mall or something… then it’s just a ballistic projectile… with no heat signature… it’s not like they aren’t going to be looking but like what exactly are you going

It’ll never go obsolete or run out of supply

Of course, but then you’re basically wondering whether the material has a more regular structure that might make it possibly work as a lens besides *just* acting as a filler/energy transfer thing
comment in response to post
The material refracts those wavelengths onto the secondary?

The doge officials will be substituting fogbank with their own vape clouds

And so if it was a nice fractal-y crystal sort of thing that energy would end up being pretty even (therefore symmetric therefore opposite-boom), vs something that’s a bit more entropic at higher scales and so is maybe less consistent?

Maybe they’re already busy operationalizing that post

You could maybe rewire to send the current down the sense/data pins? That might brick something

What about when they were using it as an ammo depot?

What happens to small arms development and production? Do the Certs hoard all their cool toys or does like the whole world (or the Allies at least) become AR-15 Forever (Electric Boogaloo) by like 1950

I mean, they are very good looking aircraft

With some sort of WSPR(like) network those van guys would have to get pretty damn close too

This might not be nearly true, but it could be good if they were to be convinced of it

I’m more thinking that maybe soonish Ellen breaks something major (visible) and that drops them down a lot but not quite all the way, and then they kinda hover at not-quite-critical levels while you chip away for the next, like year-ish then who knows. No catastrophe, but an Incident

I’m not saying I wouldn’t find it romantic

I part I think that ‘move-on’ attitude was stemming from a broader collective naïveté that we could simply push past, that T1 could be made a blip. That desire slowly grew into delusion until it was a wall that has just been brought crumbling down by the raging fire it had blinded its builders to.

We could be talking like, decimal logic here and everything

My PC is like the Russian nuclear arsenal because it is large, heavy, was pretty good a while ago, I got it for free, and notionally it still works

I mean, would it maybe make sense if you were playing very tall and didn’t have that many armies to lose?
