Public Notice: “ @aoc.bsky.social is showing members of Congress can provide real help to constituents while enraging Trump’s dunderheaded hench-thugs and making them look so bad even Jonathan Turley is forced to pile on… Schumer & Jeffries should take notes.” open.substack.com/pub/aaronrup...

I’ve been doing a lot of research about the people being laid off at the national parks and it turns out it has nothing to do with DEI or performance. It’s a land grab so they can drill baby drill.

Whitehouse: "Remember Trump-Russia? The Mueller report said there was Trump-Russia. The bipartisan Senate intelligence report said there was Trump-Russia. Repeated trials brought in evidence showing Trump-Russia. There was, is, and forever shall be Trump-Russia."

In a time of chaos, AOC is truly stepping up and taking this new administration head on and becoming the face of dems. Presidential Matterial!

Trump/Russia pays off for Putin again as Trump says Ukraine “started it,” spouting Moscow’s biggest lie. Trump/Russia was never a “hoax”; it is and always was real.

Sheriff said he was "not acting in his official capacity," which means he gave up any claim of qualified immunity for battery and deprivation of rights.

And the FBI is instructing employees to ignore the email as well. Also reported earlier by NBC News.

Border czar Tom Homan went on TV Monday, bumbling and sweating like a madman to keep his feud going with AOC. AOC responded with this fire: “This is why you fight these cowards. The moment you stand up to them, they crumble. Homan has nothing.” More here:

Pete Buttigieg said what we’re all thinking about Trump and Musk’s mayhem: “We too demand government work different and better than it has...burning it to the ground isn’t gonna do that for anyone.”

Yesterday I spoke to Beto O'Rourke, to get his take on everything that’s happening right now with the Trump and Musk madness. Beto gave me an update on his latest efforts, told me what he plans to do next, and urged our listeners to continue standing up, and making their voices heard.

DOGE = Damaging Our aGricultural Environment 😡😡 1/8

"The US needs to maintain good relations with Russia because it is a world power," — Marco Rubio, Putin's PR agent. Russia hasn't been a major superpower since the Cold War. Now it's just a crappy little oligarchy with a smaller economy than 3 US states. Rubio knows it.

As Republicans move a budget resolution tonight, it’s important to understand this: they're working on tax breaks for billionaires while slashing health care, education and public safety and doing nothing about the really big problems most Americans are facing, like the rising costs of housing.

Pleased with Senator @markwarner.bsky.social response to my letter expressing concern about DOGE access to federal systems. He gets it. Thank you Senator Warner. @hcrichardson.bsky.social

been thinking a lot about this quote lately “There must have been a moment, at the beginning, where we could have said -- no. But somehow we missed it.” ― Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead

Great time to follow David Pepper and read his work.

Rep Raskin has been great. Rep Ocasio-Cortez has been great. And Rep Frost and Rep Crockett. Senator Murphy. Maybe no one knew exactly what to do. But such people laid down a clear marker. Let’s respect these and other elected federal representatives who stood out these first few weeks.

Usefully sober fact sheet on Ukraine. Please share with those who need it. understandingwar.org/backgrounder...

The premise of American foreign policy to Ukraine, today, is one of grievance. It is worth patiently considering the proposals. They reveal little about Ukraine, but much about America in February 2025. snyder.substack.com/p/recoup-the...

I was set to launch my book at the Carter Library next month. This week, we were told all events now need approval from the National Archives. The next day, my event was forced to relocate. A book about the working homeless. A book about civil rights. Apparently these topics are now off limits.

#Emails2DOGE

In the era that I studied when I was still part of the academic world one recurrent topic was that of "over-mighty subjects". This referred to subjects of the Crown who were themselves so powerful that they threatened the sovereign power of the Crown itself. In the US we have no sovereign, or ...

I want to address a related point to the one I raised in this thread. A couple years ago the Times did a really strong package about the power of SpaceX. Not only is SpaceX. Not only is it now one if not the preemptive orbital delivery company in the world it also has a fleet of ...

Sharing more townhall videos today because they’re giving me hope. THIS is good trouble! Who is this man? I want to shake his hand and buy him a drink.

If members of Congress—like Rep. Grothman —are this clueless about what the man who is dismantling our government is saying and promising, they don’t deserve to keep their jobs! This woman is in his face, begging him to wake TF up—and he just walks off. Pathetic.

Quite a moment when top military commanders are reacting to Elon's latest manic weekend email outburst as though it's a provocation from a rival state power

Following Trump’s new Executive Order re: the S.F. Presidio, here’s a shareable link to an unrolled version of my highly sourced thread about the Tech Bros’ plan to build a “Freedom City” in the Presidio. The MSM has yet to connect these dots, & it’s driving me crazy! skywriter.blue/pages/did:pl...

This fantastic piece by Stewart Patrick is an excellent summary of the wrecking ball that Trump is taking to the entire international order crafted by Dem & Repub presidents over 80 yrs. Who does this benefit? The Kremlin, for certain. No one else. carnegieendowment.org/emissary/202...

The Trump administration is canceling presentations including book talks on important civil rights issues at the Carter Center & possibly elsewhere. Let’s celebrate these authors by buying & reading their books. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/a...

This is 100%. Almost everything in the constitution is general or implied. The document literally says there's going to be a post office and congress is in charge of setting it up, deciding what it's rules are.

“A Tesla driver was killed in a fiery crash after going triple-digit speeds in Pierce County,”prompting a “warning about the danger of electric vehicles catching fire in similar incidents…’We usually only have seconds to help these victims when vehicles do catch fire,’” a deputy said. 1/

Pope Francis is in “critical condition,” the Vatican said Saturday, after a “prolonged asthmatic crisis” and a low platelet count. They said he was alert and sitting in an armchair, but suffering more pain than the day before.

@hcrichardson.bsky.social I remember being fascinated with your history talk on the beginnings of the post office. Wondering about Trump dissolving the board and connecting it to finance.
