City-eating shopping malls, I think!

And the “barricade” is one (1) dumpster and a couple of umbrellas
Oh no, Big Scary, must shoot at it!

Yeah, I suspect a lot are just the usual petty power-tripping bullies. They don’t need a cause, they just need an excuse to abuse people.

“Proposed”
This is not an administration that likes paying people, and it’s headed by a guy who very famously stiffs all his contractors

I don’t think there are as many as they need for their crazy overblown plans, and most of them are more likely to go into regular law enforcement where the pay + pensions are probably a lot better anyway.
(And a lot of cops seem to prefer getting overtime for standing around playing Candy Crush.)

Is this basically the Uber of law enforcement? Enforcement as a gig economy job, I’m sure that’ll work out just great.

At this point, the only willing recruits they might be able to scrape together will be the absolute dregs of incompetent high-school drop-outs and a few unhinged sociopaths.
I cannot see why anyone else would have any incentive to work with them, just the most loser job imaginable.

I appreciate that he managed to keep the skull motif!

Like, even the military didn’t seem to want this, because it’s a lot of extra hassle
So yeah, another spectacularly dumb take from the Atlantic

What’s especially egregious about this in particular is, there was ALREADY some kind of 250th Military Anniversary celebration planned ages ago. So that was going to happen anyway.
The dumb “parade” thing was an extra request by Trump and utterly unnecessary, even for military propaganda purposes.

I’ve been seeing plenty of questionable rumors and wild speculation flying around in the Left/liberal-Influencer-Grifter sphere, so I will bet anything it’s 1000x dumber in the right-wing influencer sphere
Probably lots of photos-through-smoke and “THEY’RE BURNING THE CITIES!” like they did in 2020

I will never get tired of being reminded that this exists, it’s SO cool!

How many times do people gotta be reminded: don’t post identifying info of protesters for social media clout
Come on, people, we’ve been through this before -__-

I suspect recruitment is not exactly going to be going great in the near future, either.

Are people still totally unaware that the administration of Columbia U. are a bunch of rich conservatives? The lady who was at the head of Columbia U. when the admin called the cops onto campus was an actual baroness.
This is why admin at these colleges doesn’t GAF about liberal students or faculty

This is so much like 2020 all over again, and they are 100% going to push the “Looting and Riots and Terrorists” narrative as an excuse to “crack down”
Really wishing my city and state didn’t have a couple of “tough-on-crime” goons in charge now, because they’ll buy right into that narrative 🙃

Same issue with “I can generate tons of Trendy Products super fast! I’ll make so much money dropshipping!”
Except everyone and their mother can do the exact same thing, and you end up with the current state of Etsy: such vast floods of generated junk that nobody but Etsy makes much money in the end

It’s at the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum in Boston last I knew, and that whole museum is totally worth a visit! Lots of great art gems tucked away in there. (And the space is cool, too.)

They’d have to pry it out of the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum first!
It’s got its own little room there

Oh yeah, that’s a good one! The original is surprisingly huge, too, looking at it is almost immersive

Right? Plenty of places have long had just one general use bathroom with no issues whatsoever! Smaller businesses and eateries where there’s only room for one toilet, trains and airplanes, etc.
It’s just a place to pee, not a Shrine to Gender

My Grandma invariably had maraschino cherries, miniature colored marshmallows, and those ubiquitous pastel-colored wafer cookies in her pantry
I LOOOOVED maraschino cherries as a small child, but I’m not sure I want to know what was in them!
