Misidentification of genre is a good thing for music. For example, if a person mistakenly refers to Spin Doctors as shoegaze, this simply makes shoegaze more powerful by broadening its scope of possibility (such as alt-rock scatting). Conversely, shoegaze gains nothing when defined via exclusion.

My growing obsession with lacquered wood continues. Found this lil desk clock in the chaos bins for basically nothing. The hands were bent up, but after some tweaking it started right up. Neat lil thing.

Ok, so I just spent all day rearranging stuff cause I got a bunch of cheap utilitarian furniture so I could organize things better. The first room I did is my dining room/dual workspace/bird room.

What an amazing album. First of all, this fucking slaps. Second and more importantly, according his bio provided by the excellent Astral Spirits label, the guy behind the project, Jeremy Barnes, made this as he was teaching music at a juvenile detention center and to refugee youths online. Awesome.

Today was a highly successful tear through the chaos thrift bins and the Restore. I even found this busted tripod for better photos. The results are mixed but that’s also cause idk how to take a photo without looking like I’m simmering with rage at all times.

At some point alot of people in the news decided that every American political event happens in a dimension absent of any question of morality and can only be spoken about in terms of who scored a “political touchdown” and not 150,000 additional children going hungry because that’s “fair”
