Eine wichtige Lieferung erreicht mich heute aus der Heimat.

Anyone working with @deckset.bsky.social on Mac and iOS? I wrote a little python script to convert Mac presentations (md file + assets folder) to Textbundle files. I use it with Shortcuts as a Quick Action on Mac. github.com/questoph/lif...

Got my hands on this beauty in mint condition. What a catch! One of the best German Hip Hop albums ever.

Happy Lingscape day! Today 8 years ago, we first published Lingscape.app, our participatory app for research on linguistic landscapes. Since then, we’ve supported more than 500 satellite projects and collected more than 100k images. The very first image in our database is from Corsica.

Next month we will host the workshop "Mensch Metapher Maschine", organized by @questoph.bsky.social, Ralf Becker and Simon Kasper. The main topic of the workshop is the complex relationship between humans and technology, with a special focus on the role of language. Program: t1p.de/mmm2024

Happy to see at least some language critical evaluation of the current AI hype in the discussion around the “abilities” of LLMs. Many of the problems start with using the wrong kind of language to describe what these artifacts supposedly “do”. Human activity is invested in every step of the way.
