Literally all this means is that SCOTUS—unanimously!—found that the legal standard for proving you were discriminated against on the basis of sexual orientation is the same if you're straight or queer. That's what "sides with" means here. The Court didn't find she was discriminated against.

Like this is exactly right, and I'm glad he's saying it out loud, because it's something we don't reckon with enough in society: people who are *nationalists* and people who are *patriots* might both identify with national symbols, but they are valorizing importantly different aspects of the nation
