It probably annoys me far more than it should, but to all and any booksellers…. For the love of #books, stop putting cheap stickers on your books that don’t peel off, forcing me to spend ten minutes picking at a stubborn price tag that tears, leaves behind a sticky mess, and damaging the cover.

A phenomenal result from the Bears. 90-5 at lunch chasing 338! #Cricket at its best… #countychampionship

Especially now given that the Broccolis have lost the #Bond franchise, the ending of ā€˜No Time to Die’ is extra poignant. A true love letter to the franchise, even if divisive amongst the fanbase. Personally, I loved it. šŸøšŸ¤µšŸ»

Great to have the latest episodes of Military History Plus back, featuring @historian1914.bsky.social and @profgsheffield.bsky.social A fascinating and wide-ranging discussion on Churchill—highly recommended listening!

Being a Welsh rugby fan has often been up and down… But today… humiliating feels an understatement šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳ó æ

Absolutely chuffed (and in shock) to get 78% on my M.A. dissertation! Thanks to all who supported me… What a brilliant journey—fantastic course, brilliant lecturers, and mates for life. And to top it off, graduating with a merit… and so close to a distinction too! Celebration time! šŸ‘ØšŸ»ā€šŸŽ“šŸ“š

What we all wanted to see!

Jon Stewart in an absolute epic and brilliant rant about the state of the world.

As the owner of a former racing #Greyhound, I can’t wait for this barbaric ā€˜sport’, which let’s be honest exists solely for #gambling, is outlawed across the the UK… 'Greyhound racing cost my pet its leg - I back the ban' www.bbc.com/news/article...

Safe to say, bravo #Canada. You represented all of the (sane) international thought in yesterdays #icehockey… šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦

So pleased to have finally completed and submitted my History M.A. dissertation to @wlvuni.bsky.social: ā€˜The Right Sort of Chap’: Recruitment, Selection & Training of British Army Junior Officers, 1939-45. Huge thanks to my wife Clare & supervisor Dr. Phil McCarty for their patience! #history

Applicable for all conflicts in the world. Past, present and future.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers. This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder. Auschwitz took time.

Some exciting news for those researching Kindertransport: 'the records contain the names of almost all the children who fled to the UK and Holland on the Kindertransport – up to 9,000 children – on more than 90 trains between December 1938 and August 1939.'

Is there still anything more disheartening than getting an emailed titled ā€˜Your deliveries have been dispatched to DPD’ So the lottery of its arrival begins…

Elon who? šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

This is Maisy. She gets an additional party hat for each birthday, and she just turned nine. 13/10 may this tradition go on forever

Possibly the best clap back against ignorant antivaxxers.

Ah, the madness of the final stretch of M.A dissertation writing… I got a picture of General Ronald Adam (big part of my research) looking up at me wholly unimpressed with my output… šŸ˜‚ Sorry Sir, I’ll stop looking at videos on social media…

This is just your friendly public service announcement to remind you that… …IT’S ONLY 100 DAYS UNTIL THE START OF THE COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP!!! #SeeingRed šŸ #cricket

So, England #cricket are in a tricky position… No doubt the tireless back and forth about Bazball will continue from all the talking heads… They win… Bazball is brilliant! They lose… Bazball is terrible!cricket! They barely win… Bazball is er, good? bad?

This is what I would have preferred to see.

The British state education system is a peculiar beast… designed and directed by those who consider children’s happiness and growth such a low priority as to be moot… Yet manned & propped up by caring, idealistic educators gradually burning out as they do their best in a system that ignores them.

Along with criticising those against playing against Afghanistan, this tool just seems to think he can continue lobbing grenades as he steps down

First day over at my new job… First impressions are very positive. It seems a really nice place, and my colleagues were all lovely to the nervous new guy šŸ˜Ž

Ten years today, I quit smoking... 🚬🤢 Only two cigs, and two cigars since. Not bad for a former 20+ a day smoker šŸ¤˜šŸ˜Ž

The RAF Museum is commissioning a major new art work. The project will mark the 25th anniversary of the end of the LGB Ban on service personnel and highlight the personal cost of the ban, and what change meant when it finally arrived in the year 2000 www.rafmuseum.org.uk/london/whats...

Fuming with my child’s #school. Twice now, they’ve had to miss their favourite lesson, #history, for maths intervention. Today they came home really upset—they were so excited to create a WW1 propaganda poster. The all-dominance of English & Maths in the curriculum is infuriating. 🤬

Diving deep into my M.A. dissertation on the evolution of British Army junior officer selection & training in WWII… 30,000+ words of notes for a 15,000-word essay! šŸ˜‚ If I ever did a PhD, it’d likely be on General Ronald Adam—the most consequential British general most never think or heard of
