There are at least some cool urban fantasy authors writing things that feel like that and aren’t a bummer, like @rachel-aaron.bsky.social ‘s various books set in her Detroit Free Zone. Her current series about anarchist demons trying to tear heaven down is also good

Yaaay! Glad to hear it! Book 4 should be out soon so not long to wait. Thanks for reading my book!

I love all my series though. But those were the two I personally had the most fun with

Probably my DFZ series, which starts with MINIMUM WAGE MAGIC that's my other true romance. Opal is my second favorite character to write after Devi. It's also the only other series I wrote in first person, which makes them a lot of fun 😊

I love that both Frieren and the mimic are full figures! They could have cheaper out and just given me half a Frieren, but they really went the extra mile!

I'm so glad I'm your comfort. Read! That series is still my personal favorite 😄

GREAT show, though! The story is twisty and the characters are all super well done. Can't believe I waited so long to watch it. I blame Disney for buying the rights and then and hiding it in the depths of Hulu. Also, the opening song is *chef's kiss* youtu.be/PgBvV9ofjmA?...

I just can't decide. Does the device work, or is it too distracting for what is otherwise (aside from the whole reborn thing) a determinedly cynical and realistic story?

on the other hand, the star eyes make them look like freaky aliens.

On the one hand, I totally understand what the mangaka was trying to do. Everyone's beautiful in manga, so the eyes serve as a visual signifier for which of these gorgeous 2d people has the spark or je n'sais quoi needed to make it in the industry. In Oshi no Ko, crazy eyes = actual talent/potential

yeah, it pulled the rug on me as well but I love the characters. I'm kind of sad she went more cozy in her later works. I loved her twisted badasses!

I'm also hating me for leaving you hanging because this book was SUPPOSED to be done before Christmas. Alas, I'm still working on book 4, but I'm SO CLOSE to being finished and it will definitely be out middle of this year-ish. Thanks so much for reading my stuff! I hope you enjoyed it :D

Yay! I'm so glad you like Hell to Pay, and you're going to love Clockwork Boys! That's the book that got me into T Kingfisher 🥰

I'm happy I was your exception! 70% of the money goes straight to support me and my work if that makes you feel better. Thank you for supporting an independent author!

Thank you!! The spine just keeps printing a little off, but once we've got that fixed, it'll be up! Even with the error, I already love how the purple looks next to the yellow and green on my shelf. I'm definitely doing hardback editions for my other books as soon as I get the time!

Just be careful you don't kill your own vibe. Trust me, it's totally possible to optimize your book to death 😭

I have no plans to write more in Eli's world because I don't actually know what I'd write. That story is pretty resolved, but I am definitely going to return to high fantasy. I got all inspired by Frieren and Delicious in Dungeon, so I'm actually working on several ideas right now!

so glad to hear it! I still do my prewriting before every scene to this day. Still works!
