So clear that for both of them their core childhood emotional experience was humiliation. I am genuinely sorry their dads hurt them so much. They’re hobbled little men in no position to wield this power given their disability.

It’s me!

Since I have defended and supported the WaPo in the months since the election and the infamous pulled endorsement, I feel obliged to say: this is very, very bad. A dear friend at a Post vet says it's the worst thing to happen to the Post in its long history, and I can't argue.

If I can get a few more prints sold in the next couple of days (not on Buy Nothing Day, of course!) I will be a very happy girl. Here's some of what's in the shop- quantities of these babies are limited! www.brianna-ashby.com/new-products

you gotta wonder about what kind of dude Slimer was when he was alive

Every House Republican just voted to defund Medicaid. Reminder: there are no moderate Republicans in Congress, and stop pretending there are.

Dear friends in Ohio have had the financial rug pulled out from under them when a grant they were awarded was rescinded, courtesy of the Trump administration, who at the same time pushes through a budget that will explode the deficit by $25 trillion www.thereportingproject.org/rural-ohio-b...

Two texts I read in February reminded me to make space and time to check in on how I'm feeling: Rachel Yoder's Nightbitch and Etaf Rum's Evil Eye. Big takeaway: I can love my children infinitely and still acknowledge that this motherhood shit is hard. @rachelyoder.bsky.social

Heard a bird sing its spring song today was filled with achy nostalgia for the dead end of the dirt road where I grew up

Thanks to @maureenmccollum.bsky.social and Wisconsin NPR for the conversation about motherhood, writing, and wildness. www.wpr.org/books/rachel...

If you got married and changed your name, you may not be able to register to vote if the SAVE Act passes. This law will impact millions of married women, as well as trans folks. This is not a joke, call your Congresspeople.

Someone tell Siriani that Jesus doesn’t care about the Super Bowl

We turn off the violence when the killing is no longer fun

The winners attempt to hide their erections as certain victory nears

Ok I just figured out the bit. It’s Wenderoth’s LETTERS TO WENDY’S except mine are LETTERS TO SUPER BOWL

Losing is tantamount to castration

Slowly, as the losers are humiliated, we cease to identify with their play and recede into tranquil domestic anonymity

Defeat, though not ours, still stings with shame

What’s at stake at the Super Bowl? And what do the heroes desire?

The POTUS sits in the highest booth above the stadium to watch the violence. Before the game, he salutes the flag.
