Oh, so things and people, and countries, relations between people and countries, and so on can change, be different in different time periods, at different times? You "academic historians" are crazy /j

A country being invaded can be helped if it is able to buy weapons that help stop/slow down the invasion? Really?

In a Lithuanian context I first thought of the brothers Lavrinovičiai, so yeah, that would be quite horrible

Perhaps we shoudn't jump too fast to analogies about how the far right (and/or fascists) use a super small, mostly powerless minority as a go-to explanation for, scapegoat, etc., for all of the problems they perceive (almost on a metaphysical level). On the other hand, it's almost too easy to see it

It's pretty funny that the richest (and one of the most powerfull) person in the world is so thinned skined and just such a weak a person. Could we see trolling become a revolutionary tactic?

Intersectionality and the idea that indentity (and whatever privilege or persecution it's connected to) is relational/contextual (broadly speaking) is not that difficult, yet there are always people who don't seem to get it (mostly on the right and center, but, sometimes, on the left too, sadly).

Vėlgi, todėl man labiau trukdo mūsų pundit ekosistema: jie (dažnai) nėra išrinkti politikai, jie galėtų bandyti formuoti diskursą ir viešą nuomonę (kuri Gitanui rūpi), bet patys dar tebevartoja USA kaip vienintelio atsakymo į geopolitines grėsmes opijų. Gryna ideologija, kuria kaltina kairiuosius.

Aš spėčiau, kad jis bando tęsti savo vidaus politikos MO (nelabai turėti pažiūrų, tiesiog sekti, kas populiariausia ir daugmaž pagal tai kalbėti, nieko labai nepasakant; status quo, etc.) užsienio politikos srityje, bet geopolitinė situacija tikrai nėra tinkama tokiai (non) asmenybei. Nendrė vs tank

Sutinku, bet didesnė problema, mano nuomone, kad veik visas centro-dešinės, "nuosaikios" dešinės (ir ne tik) politikų, politikos apžvalgininkų, nuomonės formuotojų establishmen'as (kuris jau dešimtmečiais formuoja Lietuvos politinį diskursą) panašiai iliuziškai laikosi įsikibęs JAV-gelbėtojo vaizdo.

I may not love my guy/gay husband, but (as a fan of history) I know that, historically speaking, most spouses didn't love each other. Small price to pay for the glorious progressive liberal revolution.

The combination of Marx and Freud (or psychoanalysis more broadly) for political (and/or societal) analysis was one of the best intelectual moves ever, and I'm tired of people telling me otherwise.
