I don't want to overstate this, but being in DC for #UERU and #AACU conferences feels a little like resistance. "Reaffirming Higher Ed's Public Purpose"

Apparently I can write everything except my book. I co-authored this piece on teaching practices derived from UDL + why this is a disability justice issue. Preprint doi.org/10.31234/osf... #psychologicalscience #SoTL #eddev #UDL #disability @gernsbacherlab.bsky.social is the only one on this app.

New preprint with @emilynordmann.bsky.social and @raechel.bsky.social, where we show how open research tools (preprints, registered reports, open educational resources) may be particularly useful for scholars on the Teaching and Scholarship track osf.io/preprints/ed...

New CfP alert! Consider submitting to our forthcoming special issue on "Open Research for the Humanities and Social Sciences" edited by Dr. Samuel Moore @samuelmoore.org. CfP available here: journals.publishing.umich.edu/jep/news/196/ Abstracts due January 30 2025

I teach methods in psych. How do I gently ask my students "is this what a results section looks like in any of the papers you've read?" (or in the examples or the how-to videos I posted?) I'm not being snarky. How do I tell them - model your writing after other good writing!

Is having a FT job, teaching a class online, taking a class online, and writing a book too much to do at one time? Yes. Am I doing it? Not well, lol. Book words since Sept = 0. Will I do it again next term? Also yes. Tell me about all you're doing! :)

MIT is hiring its first Executive Director of the Institute Community and Equity Office. We need strong leadership here. See link for more details: careers.peopleclick.com/careerscp/cl...

Blocked a few folks this morning. At least they make it easy to tell who they are.

Does anyone by chance have a reference for the process of theory testing and development? Maybe @devezer.bsky.social ? I'm trying to argue that a basic tenet of theory testing is that it is incremental (ie isolates one feature to test at a time) #AcademicSky #PsychSciSky

one of the reasons bluesky works differently is because early users waged a successful fight to get the devs to prioritize safety features to protect communities at risk as a result bluesky now has a suite of controls that i think are unmatched on social media here’s the list, lmk what i’ve missed

I'm so excited. It's NPR Books We Love Day! Books We Love is NPR's interactive reading guide —fully indexed, categorized and handpicked by NPR staff and freelance writers like me. I wrote about nine of my most beloved 2024 releases. apps.npr.org/best-books/#...

If the idea that this is the best I'll ever feel, pain-wise, makes me cry, please convince me I'm not being dramatic in telling my doctor I don't think I'm better. Feeling a bit hopeless and guilty and ashamed and scared. #disabilitysky
