one of the reasons bluesky works differently is because early users waged a successful fight to get the devs to prioritize safety features to protect communities at risk
as a result bluesky now has a suite of controls that i think are unmatched on social media
here’s the list, lmk what i’ve missed

i missed muted words & tags in my list
safety is never done and i think private accounts & soft blocking should be added
i agree public blocks & lists are
bad but they’re going to stay because federation
safety is in layers and friction stops bad actors
My review: Bluesky Open Source is just one more excuse for coders to half-ass build an app.
I mention this and other tips here https://teklink.io/BlueskyGuide

I very much miss this feature too :/ I end up blocking some people just for the unfollow.
I feel much safer here.
An FYI on safety and moderation features here as you guys get your accounts up and running.
allows for experimentation and an expansion in capability that isn’t otherwise possible with platform-run moderation
can i ask what you feel is missing, in terms of safety? is it a matter of Bluesky PBC implementing something, or a space that the community can step into providing?
