🚨 They're at it again: A new study claims air purifiers and ventilation might INCREASE transmission risk. But it's built on bad assumptions and misleading framing. Let’s break it down so you don’t get fooled. 🧵👇

Today our legal team has written to the Chair of the UK COVID Inquiry to invite her to make urgent interim recommendations to make healthcare settings safe. 🙏 wear a mask 😷in all healthcare settings this festive season, help reduce risk. #CovidInquiry #LongCovidKids #NHS #HealthCare

These people eliminated 190 million dollars in childhood cancer research money to pay for tax cuts for the wealthiest corporations in human history. I’m a no.

This is really disappointing- only 41.8% of eligible people have taken up the offer of an RSV vaccine! London has the lowest take up- 34.2%. Takeup in some ethnic groups such as S Asian as low as 14.3%- this clearly stores MUCH more work needed to communicate about this vaccine & its benefits 🧪

Jeffries: In our nation's history, 25% of our nation's debt was accumulated during the four years of the former president, 25%. How dare you lecture America about fiscal responsibility ever.

Flu cases are rising- its well worth trying to get a flu jab if you can- it will protect from the worst effects of flu-do try and stay safe & well this xmas www.theguardian.com/society/2024...

Worrying trends to as whooping cough vaccines still fairly low- i fear vaccine hesitancy impacting here- rates to a little in some London boroughs from a low of around 30%. 😔🧪

Literally crying hearing how French women applaud Gisele Pelicot every day as she walks out of court. #r4today Everywhere around the world women watch & applaud her bravery too. She stood up for all of us. Because the shame has to switch sides.

“600+ hospitalised with Covid, flu & RSV” ..& still ~at the 5th Christmas of the pandemic~ no public health advice about prevention You catch COVID, flu & RSV by breathing infected air Prevent virus build-up by cracking open a window in buildings & vehicles www.irishtimes.com/health/2024/...

New Christmas lights just went up in Clacton. (Farage is still the MP who makes most money from second jobs. By a long way.)

Obviously no one could have foreseen this.

SARS-CoV-2 detected in 9 % of aerosol samples from community indoor spaces (study in Spain) “Highest frequency of detection was in elderly care homes & healthcare settings” Cleaning the air in hospitals & care homes is simple cheap solution to stop infection www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

I'm a Labour Party member. I'm booked in for a meeting to find out how Labour are planning to (win / lose) the next general election by (fixing / not fixing) the NHS by (ignoring / addressing) infection control and the ongoing COVID pandemic.

A mask (an ffp2+/n95+ mask) worn properly will help stop you catching Covid, flu, rsv, measles, norovirus, whatever virus is the airborne flavour of the month. It's amazing how many people think catching any of those is a good idea.

Universities Are Failing a Critical #COVID Test Improving indoor air quality —ventilation, high-quality filters in AHUs, portable air filtration, germicidal UV, monitoring & display of CO2— has been shown to reduce in-classroom transmission of COVID-19 by 80% in schools thetyee.ca/Opinion/2024...

What is Immunodeficiency? Ever heard of immunodeficiency? It’s where the immune system doesn't work properly due to genetic or other causes. It leaves people prone to severe, recurrent infections. They can remain undiagnosed for many years, resulting in organ damage and even disability. 1/2

This is the average length of time that people admitted to hospital for Covid stayed in hospital, month by month throughout the last nearly five years in Scotland. Can someone please point to the place on the graph where Covid becomes mild?

Why wouldn’t you take long Covid into account when considering who should be vaccinated. Quite apart from the health issues of the people who get it, it clearly has an enormous economic impact.

Today would have been Carl Sagan's 90th birthday. He wrote this in 1995. Carl was absolutely right. #CarlSaganDay

Now the weather is turning colder a good time to remind that air cleaners can be a low energy approach to maintaining good indoor air when windows are less frequently opened. We looked at this recently for classrooms led by @henryburridge.bsky.social www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
