We've become a society of selfish assholes. It's everywhere you go. Spend some time at a Costco on the weekend and look at all of the people walking around aimlessly that are completely unaware that there are other people around them.

This is a pretty poor take on this. Garland dragged his feet on this and an indictment didn't come until more than 2 years after the 1/6/21 insurrection. The failure of the DOJ with regards to Trump can be directly traced back to Garland's failure to act in a timely manner.

The root cause is Religion, and most, if not all, Republicans are religious zealots. When something like religion requires you to suspend rational thinking and discard empirical evidence to "just have faith" this is what you get. It's a cancer that spreads to everything that person touches.
