Can’t really push back on either of those observations. Definitely low energy.

Kind of raises the question of who is in charge on this, Trump or Miller?
comment in response to
post
It raises the question whether Trump or Miller controls policy. I’m betting on that angry hateful sneaky fuck Miller.

Yeah I don’t know. I heard this from Border Patrol officers all of whom were on the scale from aggressive to fully fascist. Only had a chance to speak with a handful of retired Marines and they all seemed more measured.

Ok, better now? I mean, safe space: feel free to continue on….

Well you’ve clearly left your utopia to bait me, so what do you want, Nate? Feeling frisky? Want to argue? Not a good Sunday morning unless you’ve screamed genocide at someone? I’m going to finish my coffee. Meanwhile, please consider this a safe space in which to act out.

This is bending the knee so fast and hard the joint snaps.

I have been told that Border Patrol and the Marines share a similarity in that the oath they take is to both the Constitution and to the president, not just the Constitution.

Happy for you. And thanks for accurately identifying and respecting my aversion to “utopias.” Be well.

Pescaprideans are the worst! Won’t ever stop making those stupid fish faces.

Without exploring the borderlines of videos, perhaps the Trump national security file was already sufficiently stuffed?

In an appropriately working USG, the DoJ’s independence would preclude a president from interfering. DoJ policy is not to release evidence or party names if not being charged. Being a name on a list or an image in a video is not sufficient to charge. What does this have to do with Biden?

Ownership purportedly paid $250M for the Post. That same principle owner has billions of govt contracts at stake on other sides of his business empire. Perhaps Bob Woodward should buy the paper.

What does newsom’s comment even mean? That he agrees the bill doesn’t cut enough?

Do you suppose AIs will be able to independently blackmail people?

Writing a manifesto seems to be a prerequisite to committing mass murder.

I’ve been told that in this age of shrinking news rooms a lot of stories bubble up as packages from PR people as part of a more generalized strategy. Not saying this article wasn’t a sincere reporting effort…

So we have to buy into a narrative we don’t believe in order to defeat fascism? And if we all collectively condemn Biden that will fix things? Not sure but that strikes me as incorrect.
comment in response to

It’s my supposition based only on observation that both men got jacked up on amphetamines of some sort to perform. Biden simply didn’t respond that night probably because of illness, travel and age. Time to look forward. People are faced with having to make hard decisions in real time.

Fair. I don’t have any expertise around this but just observing. The Hur excerpt actually had Biden slightly better able to stay on topic than Trump typically does in public talks.
comment in response to
post
Ok I’ve now listened to the Hur excerpt of Biden talking about his son’s death. I’m doubling down. Trump is exactly as mentally impaired, but, unfortunately, has more energy with which to express his mental impairment. Add to that his ethical impairments and the situation now is much more dangerous.

Made a good deal? I thought it was a gift. So what does Qatar get?

Yeah no. Pick up a copy of Tina Nguyen’s Maga Diaries for what’s missing.

Nothing about our current situation is “ok.” And I stand by my months earlier point that presidenting (done correctly) is a team sport and we lose even that with Trump. Anyway this is my last comment forever on this thing that nothing can be done about now.
comment in response to
post
I am not a psychologist or a brain scientist and maybe Grok has a better answer, but I tend to think it’s just a different way of coping with similar memory issues. I don’t recall saying the level of impairment was the same though.

So we are safer with Trump?

Yeah, no. Trump does forget what he is saying midsentence and rambles.

Imagine if some president chose to radically reduce the dollars available for federal emergency response then used whatever remained to reward political supporter states.

What I am hearing is that California and New York will have to pay for their own emergencies as well as Mississippi’s.
