A man with a scorpion bite. A woman with cholera. A diabetic who needed insulin. A 3-year-old boy. They all died when the U.S. stopped sending medicine to Sudan. www.washingtonpost.com/world/2025/0...

Jake Tapper should be best understood now as someone who works in service of helping to launder GOP talking points. "those who truly need it & deserve it" is designed to be not just a softball to Katie Britt but a verbatim repeating of the GOPs lie of what their cuts will do & who they will effect.

All I see here is top notch ball security, elite contact balance, a willingness to grind out tough yards btwn the tackles, and surprising burst after he finds daylight

It’s every parent’s nightmare, isn’t it? you check your child’s bulletproof backpack and find a picture book about gay penguins

How do they get away with this? The bill they passed cuts Medicaid by $793 BILLION. $793 BILLION. It's in the bill. They wrote it. Their own budget office says 10 million people will lose Medicaid coverage. Just wild.

LICCARDO: Capital One contributed $1 million to Trump's inauguration. And what happened as a result to the CFPB case? HARPER: They got their case dismissed LICCARDO: We're watching the defunding of the financial police happening

REED: How many Americans weapons are going to Mexico in a year? BONDI: We are arresting people who have illegal firearms in our country REED: No. You're allowing them to be purchased in the United States and driven across the border

NEW: ABC, Associated Press & the Washington Post are all confirming tonight’s CNN story. The official damage assessment shows that US strikes did not destroy Iran’s nuclear program. It likely only set it back a few months. And Iran’s enriched uranium is now missing. Trump lies as he breathes.

"He was an American citizen." Jon Favreau reacts to one of many horrifying ICE arrests of circulating online.

CNN: Three sources tell CNN that according to an early U.S. Intelligence assessment, the U.S. Military strikes on three of Iran's nuclear facilities last weekend did not destroy the core components of the country's nuclear program and likely only set it back a few months

This is great — but Schrier could equally lay the blame for those vaccine-preventable deaths on Senator/Doctor Cassidy, whose cowardly acquiescence enabled RFK Jr to take over HHS.

according to conservatives on the court, the constitution does not protect your right to your own body but does enable the government to ship you off to a foreign gulag without any hope of return

From Hunter S. Thompson’s ESPN page 2 column one week after 9/11.

Thankfully history never repeats www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people: 1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money 3) We won’t need a lot of troops 4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq 5) We’ll find WMDs 6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators 7) It will be easy 8) It won’t take long All lies.

Just to be crystal clear: bombing Iran is completely illegal.

I was thinking that maybe, more than 20 years after the start of the Iraq war, media coverage would be more skeptical and less sycophantic No such luck

Sen. Alex Padilla responds to JD Vance: "He knows my name. Look, sadly, it's just an indicator of how petty and unserious this administration is. But he's the vice president of the United States, you think he'd take the situation in Los Angeles more seriously." @msnbc.com

People made fun of stuff like Captain Planet and Waterworld for having villains whose entire personality is pollution and destroying the earth and yet...

The thing about the Khalil case is that it's very very good that he's free now but you can't have it take three months between "the government kidnaps you off the street for no basis reason whatsoever" and "a judge makes them let you go." You just can't.

I just have to say, as a historian of the Reconstruction-era Klan, that masked paramilitaries are very bad and masked vigilantes are even worse and there are causal links between the two and none of this is good for democracy.

WATCH: The official social media account for the U.S. Border Patrol posted a bizarre "hype video" to celebrate an ICE raid on a flea market in Santa Fe.

Duckworth to Hegseth: "You are blowing through money like my fellow cadets and I did in our first liberty after basic camp. Luckily I didn't end up with a questionable tattoo ... you're just an unqualified yes man who can't tell the president how to keep Americans safe."

Imagine if the headline were, "Trump refuses to show most basic decency" or "Trump continues to ratchet up tensions in wake of assassination" rather than "we hang on Trump's every word."

John Hoffman and Yvette Hoffman were hit by a combined 17 bullets from the Minnesota assassin, and both survived and are now recovering. Yvette shielded their daughter. www.startribune.com/john-hoffman...

I understand why Democrats are being restrained about this but the right's effort to lie about what happened here is incredibly disrespectful to the victims and requires vociferous pushback. The shooter appears to have been an anti-abortion zealot and a Trump voter. Don't let them avoid this.

Martin: There is no doubt that that has been fomented by the far right in this country and extremism and violent rhetoric that exists in the far reaches of the internet that we have allowed to seep into into this country.. Well, it's bullshit

Political violence is a profound evil, attacking the idea of democratic self-rule. We at @WisDems are sending support to those in grief and shock in our neighboring state. No matter their politics, no one should have to fear for their lives in order to serve in public office.

I don't know if this needs to be said or not but "elected official assassinated in their home" is simply not a thing that happens in this country. 1825, 1889, 1893, 1973. Those are all the ones I can find, ever, before today.

With the tragic assassination of a Minnesota Democratic leader, I’m going to underline this point again.

This morning Minnesota woke up to news of a brutal act of violence targeting public servants. I am heartbroken to learn that our Speaker Melissa Hortman, Sen. John Hoffman and their spouses have been shot.

FLAG: A Minnesota mayor says two state lawmakers were shot in their homes early Saturday. Mayor Ryan Sabas of Champlin says state senator John Hoffman and state representative Melissa Hortman were shot, and that Hoffman's wife was also shot.

Walz announces that Rep. Melissa Hortman is dead as a result of a "politically motivated assassination"

Brevard County Sheriff Sheriff Wayne Ivey: "If you throw a brick, a firebomb, or point a gun at one of our deputies, we will be notifying your family where to collect your remains at, because we will kill you graveyard dead."
