@washingtonpost.com what’s your policy on reporters and editors claiming an “exclusive” on a story that was reported 2 days ago by someone else? Besides just being embarrassed…

my dad used to work for the feds, for the soil and water service, helping farmers with erosion and whatnot. he once refused to participate in the national day of mourning for nixon's death and went to work and sat there alone in the dark. i hope he doesn't see this because he'll get so mad he dies

It’s a little disorienting as a Gen Xer to watch Bill S. Preston, Esq. become one of our strongest soldiers, but please give Alex a follow and attend a #TeslaTakedown if you can. Degrading the value of Tesla is a great example of direct action you can take.

Democrats: we have GOT to stop apologizing for our positions and stop worrying about what Republicans (cowards and fascists) and some imaginary center voter might think. People respect conviction and the media likes winners, so be strong and confident and stop doing and saying loser shit.

He fired these generals and army lawyers after she and her Democratic colleagues decided, once again, to grant UC and allow the Senate business to move forward. If I was a US Senator I’d be doing everything I could to throw sand in the gears. she yelled “stop” from across the street then went home.

I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that according to the fascist wraiths currently piloting Trump’s barely-ambulatory husk that the point our country was the richest coincides almost perfectly with the end of Reconstruction and the deepest pit of Jim Crow

Seattle #TeslaTakedown They closed the store.

Where are the Democrats but also Where are the churches Where are the celebrities Where are the NGOs Where are the Universities Where are professional groups like AMA Where are the athletes Where are the unions What people/groups do and don’t do for next month determines our collective future

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Coming around to the view that a certain kind of narcissist simply needs Musk to be a genius rather than a fraud, because they want to believe there’s a hereditary Brahmin class of accomplished, beautiful minds—and that they’re a part of that class.

Many of us said for years that the Biden administration should've nationalized SpaceX because Elon Musk was a legitimate national security threat. Those suggestions were ignored and considered quite unserious. 🧵

Something that's maddening about the cases involving DOGE access to our most sensitive private data and the irreparable harm standard is that the ACCESS ITSELF is the irreparable harm, and some judges just aren't getting that. (Some are, e.g., storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...)

“Fights’s commenced! Get to fightin’ or get away!”

Attention, wealthy: the US is a consumer economy. If you think that we’re going to just calmly herd into ourselves into shops and vacations and restaurants and buy cars and electronics and the rest while you turn this country into a police state and shred our Constitution, YOU’RE OUT OF YOUR MIND.

The threats posed by MAGA are not new, nor are the strategies to defend and deepen our freedoms. I wrote in @wagingnv.bsky.social about how @getfree-mvmt.bsky.social is remixing our ancestors strategies to make today's leaders refuse to bend the knee to MAGA's white supremacist agenda.

Hello friends. I know times are dark but it is incredibly important not to lose hope. And, this week there are signs of hope and it paramount we recognize that hope, not let up and build. A thread on this if I may. You may appreciate this on a Friday. Come along with me. 🧵 (1/10)

Illinoisans, when you’re calling to yell at Dick Durbin for being a useless remora on the ass of our democracy, mention this specific aspect of his suckitude

Umberto Eco put together a now-famous list of 14 attributes of fascistic states. I'm going to discuss each of them in hopes this helps ppl understand that fascism is not just a buzzword. We're going to go through these by theme, so strap in. 🧵
