One potential problem is that it might be difficult to get attorneys to take legitimate cases because they work with law enforcement. Plenty of people would file nuisance suits to try to win some cash, but that could be dealt with by making the loser pay expenses

That's basically how it works with doctors employed by hospitals. The hospital pays the premium, so they have some input into whether the case should be settled or taken to court. The hospital is usually named in the suit, too, because they are the employer.

We get sued when we're genuinely trying to help people and did nothing wrong. Most of us have been frivolously sued and had to settle because it's too expensive to fight, even with insurance. Premiums run about 25% of income! Qualified immunity is BS

It also suggests that she knows her only worth is sex appeal. Did you see her lean forward to show off her cleavage when Trump approached her at the Easter event?

As a doctor, I think he has polycythemia, based on his red face. This is probably due to too much testosterone "replacement". Elevated RBC can cause strokes.
Ask what his last blood count was. It should be checked every couple of months because of the testosterone

Wait, the miasma theory of disease has been debunked?

Ask him what steroid he is obviously taking and what VALID research proves that it does NOT cause steroid psychosis.
The American people deserve to know if the person in charge of our healthcare is psychologically impaired

He's a Baptist minister. He was the director of a weird religious summer camp called Falls Creek.

I wonder if he has steroid psychosis

Apparently, he meant Dan Caine. He must be hungry 😆. I think he said "television generals" instead of Taliban, too. Clear symptoms of dementia

Did he say he just spoke to "General Raising Kane"?

I can't even convince my own family that we don't get kickbacks for drugs or vaccines. We're not conspiring with Big Pharma to make people sick, either

My grandmother introduced me to the peanut butter/pickle/mayonnaise sandwich years ago. It's sounds disgusting, but it's honestly one of my favorites

I wrote something similar to my mother and she told me I'm depressed and need therapy. I hope your mother takes it to heart. My family thinks I'm horrible for not speaking to her, but she can't stop quoting Faux news and that enrages me. It's depressing because she used to be kind

Still, as far as I know, the Sacklers didn't collude with doctors. In my personal experience, their salespeople misrepresented oxycontin, emphasizing that it's not addictive. I can't speak for everyone (obviously), but I prescribed it because I thought it was safer than others

All the middlemen...pharmacy benefit managers, health insurers, etc. are increasing costs that don't benefit patients. Venture capitalists are destroying everything they can get their hands on. It's a mess. It all comes down to money in politics

Some doctors feel threatened by alternative therapies, but a scientist objectively evaluates the evidence. So I, for example, believe that acupuncture is effective. I considered training in it, but an ortho colleague said he's trained but doesn't do it because insurance doesn't pay

People who only take the few prerequisite science classes but don't have a science mindset don't understand how to evaluate scientific studies. Those people can't see that new expensive drugs aren't as great as pharma says they are, so they believe their lies and prescribe their drugs.

Completely agree. I think part of the problem is accepting non-science majors into med schools. Science is more than a field of study. It's a way of thinking, meaning we follow the evidence and use tools to minimize bias as much as possible. Scientists constantly look for new information
comment in response to

I can see that. The med school deans are probably threatened by alternative medicine. I know patients who benefit from acupuncture, but most insurance won't cover it. A doctor is unlikely to refer for an uncovered service, but it doesn't mean we don't support alternative therapies

I actually agree with all of your points. There's plenty of profit-motivated people in healthcare. I still don't understand why you think doctors and pharma are conspiring to keep people sick. I've heard the same thing from other people, and that is not my experience

I'm primary care and totally open-minded to any evidence-based therapy. I spent many unpaid hours educating about healthy lifestyle and nutrition, but most patients just want a pill to take. I agree that the AMA isn't doing much good, so I'm not a member

Doc here...what is the source of the claim, from you and many others, that doctors conspire with Big Pharma to keep people sick? (serious question) I started med school in 1993 and never saw any evidence of that. Most doctors hate Big Pharma because our patients can't afford their meds

It's easy for me because I'm vegetarian. The American meat industry is disgusting and unnecessarily cruel

Watch Food, Inc. I'm not sure if they cover it, but the only reason we have to cook ground beef thoroughly is because it's contaminated with intestinal bacteria (E. Coli). I think they spray chicken meat with chlorine. US meat is full of antibiotics and hormones, which may sound ok, but it's not

I read awhile back about a gel that is injected into the vas deferens, and blocks it until a reversal agent is used. I think it's being used in India, if I remember correctly

For the past 25 years, my husband and I have done the physicals (for free) for all the Head Start kids in our county. It's a great program run by underpaid angels who truly care. I've called and emailed my OK representatives, but no response 😔

I think you're on to something. I wonder if Garcia's family and lawyers could publicly flatter 47 enough to get him released. We could crowdsource a bribe, too

I'm worried they'll start denying Medicare/Medicaid coverage for people with unhealthy lifestyles. They can access medical records, credit card records, etc., to decide if you deserve care. So if you only eat fast food and never exercise, your health problems are your fault

If they rely on shame and norms, that's not going to be effective with this administration. Sending the judge to El Salvador isn't even all that far-fetched.
