There may have been reasons; I was not familiar with the tree in question. I just heard the crew working. We had to have a tree removed from our garden for root rot a few years ago.

They are drawn to beer traps, too.

Yes! People think that they're harmless, but they will cheerfully munch on many things and can make short work of seedlings.

We have trouble with pillbugs, too.

Where I am, if you want to grow anything *but* nasturtiums, you periodically have to curb-stomp them like they owe you money. They are almost a weed.

We had wind, too, but that's less remarkable. Good luck with your tomatoes!

Cutting the flower stalk won't kill the plant. Flowering won't either; setting seed takes energy, though, that the plant could use to grow more and larger traps. I usually cut mine and have never seen harm come of it.

We do okay as long as we are clear which one of us is "driving". He's much better at anything requiring maths or upper-body strength, and I'm better at plant ID and care.

It never gets old.

Brilliant! I was trying so hard to grow seaside buckwheat, which doesn't like our clay soil, in hopes of attracting caterpillars. Now I feel much better!

Wait, the caterpillars eat hollyhocks? I thought it was seaside buckwheat.

I keep wanting to get one of those stickers for my electric Smart, but I don't think people will get the joke.

It's from a batch of tricolor carrots from Renee's seeds. It exploded somehow? We'll see how it tastes!

Was T-rump right, or was it Barnum?

I don't, either. Our city water is pretty good, but my carnivores get rain or distilled water.
