Who still wears actual suits to work? Like, all the finance bros have been wearing a fleece over slacks for years. Is it only lawyers and politicians? Has the suit become like the robe and wig outfit that judges wear in england? A purposefully antiquated costume that signals judicial authority?

Pokemon go away, the rest of us are actually trying to do something.

This is simply nature's way of keeping me from regularly drinking out of vases, I suppose. Balance must be preserved, no one can become that powerful.

The state budget has been "balanced" for years by "borrowing" from the MTA pension plan. Whatever either of those terms mean in this context. So salaries for upstate corrections officers? We'll find the money somewhere. But subway riders? They're not paying their fair share or whatever.

Yup & the MTA doesn't actually have a funding crisis. Like social security, they just made meaningless bureaucratic boundaries to set up a different ledger than the rest of the budget so they could pretend it has to pay for itself. Meanwhile, they use the money for the program on everything else.

Like, we can take reasonable precautions and train ppl w best practices and teach ppl their exposure so they can make informed decisions, but whenever you confront the state, you can get hurt. And something abt that just wasn't clicking for her at all and I'm guessing this is not an uncommon thing.
