Another dataset I like is from the National Atmospheric Deposition Program, which has maps of the US that show we fixed the acid rain problem by implementing stricter emission controls on power plants. nadp.slh.wisc.edu/maps-data/nt...

World Wonders What Trump Has On United States That’s Forcing Nation To Keep Him In Power theonion.com/world-w...

This is yet another example of how we should do our best to stay away from services offered by billionaires. They will use it as leverage when they don't get what they want. Don't buy his cars, use his satellites, or support anything else he touches. Tell that to your reps as well.

Putting aside Musk’s support for yet another far-right, anti-Muslim party, the leader of Vox says climate change is “the greatest scam in history”. Does the electric car guy agree with that?

“If you had to guess the leading cause of death for children and young people around the world, what would you say? Malaria perhaps? Pneumonia? Suicide? They’re all high up there, but no, it’s road accidents.”

We pay taxes. We want them used to employ people, help people, and give back essential rights such as education and healthcare to our country. We do not want OUR hard earned money gate kept and hoarded by out of touch billionaires and a delusional political cult.

France is taxing the rich, it is time for the UK to do the same. Many of these people are paying a tax rate of less than 10%.

This guy wants the AfD to win in Germany. He wants Pierre Poilievre and the CPC to win in Canada. I don’t know about you, but given the devastation and fascism he’s doing everything he can to create in the United States and beyond, I wouldn’t vote for someone this guy likes in a million years.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

I’m not a federal government employee but here are my ‘five bullets’ of what I ‘accomplished’ last week: 1. Pissed off JD Vance 2. Pissed off Elon Musk 3. Taped a hilarious convo with Hasan Minhaj (out next month) 4. Taped a great convo with Jemele Hill 5. Drank more than one chocolate milkshake.

Also if you feel strongly about Eric Adams, you should call your city councilmember to express that and ask for their position. You’d be surprised. Hochul’s stance is highly disappointing but it doesn’t come from nowhere. Press all your electeds. City elections are in 5 months. Ask candidates too.

North America's car addiction produces monstrosities like this, applauded as visionary but really just out-of-control motordom. These projects sterilize landscapes, create mobility barriers, and drain public funds at breakneck speed.

Actually it has worked excellently all it ever was, was a lie to reduce the taxes for the richest, and now they pay next to nothing. To say it was a disaster is to believe they ever had an intention for anything else. This is exactly what they wanted.

Dear German friends — we’re hearing in Canada how the far-right extremist AfD party is polling well in part because they’re “strong on social media”, Elon Musk’s interference, & their attempts to appear mainstream. Please look closely at the chaos Musk & extremists are creating in the United States.

If you design a tv to be hung on a wall, can you put the hdmi, etc sockets near the outer edge rather than the middle of the back please!?

It's time to tax the rich.

“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” A classic quote from Malcolm X, who was assassinated 60 years ago today.

Today! See you there! It will be the warmest day in over 2 weeks!

BREAKING: The SEC has dropped its enforcement case against Coinbase. Coinbase spent $46 million to influence the outcome of the election. Now they're already getting their payoff.

Elon Musk does little more than bluff these days, and basically all of his success over the last few years only proves how little backbone anyone in this country has left. We have to start calling his bluffs. Make him deliver on his threats. This is the game.

New video up. Find out what DOGE is! (so you can tell me because I have no idea). youtu.be/ihvSwJT0rLU

So if you criticize Elon Musk, Trump’s DOJ will send you this letter. Members of Congress must have the right to forcefully oppose the Trump Administration. I will not be silenced.

People just trying to live their basic lives now find themselves awake at night, fearing for their future, losing income, and facing healthcare uncertainty, all because a few men, this psycho included, got bored with having too much and decided to disrupt millions for their own entertainment.

When even the New York Post has to publish this, you know you fucked up.

A defining policy battle is about to come to a head in this country. The Republican budget will force everyone - especially Congress and the White House - to make plain whether they are prepared to harm the rest of us in order to fund tax cuts for the wealthiest.

Medicaid is not for sale. NASA is not for sale. The Post Office is not for sale. America is not for sale. We have an obligation to resist kings. We outnumber them. And they can be overwhelmed.

Does the United States have any international allies left (that aren’t dictators) who haven’t been possibly permanently alienated by Trump in just 4 weeks?

"Qualifying for a govt job will give me space to breathe" Corruption in #Bihar exam for govt jobs blocks chances at financial security & independence for young women, as families pressure them to marry & have children. Full Story Here: article-14.com/post/in-stat...

Saw something heartbreaking today. This delivery guy's bicycle slipped on a small patch of "black ice" & he fell hard. As those of us around went to help him up, he was panickily focused on making sure the food was okay. And quickly rode away to avoid a bad rating. :(

“Microscopic particles emitted from brake pads can be more toxic than those emitted in diesel vehicle exhaust, a study has found.” People generally associate pollution from cars as being from exhaust pipes… but that’s only part of the problem with cars.

Put them all in jail.

This is one of Musk's many goals. Kill workers in factories and control the regulator who's supposed to punish him.

If there's a single thing that should be DOGE'd, it's this shit.

President Trump calls Zelensky a “dictator,” which we know can’t be true because Trump loves all the dictators. That’s why he appeases and coddles Putin and his filthy imperialist war on the people of Ukraine. History teaches us that we bow down to dictators and tyrants at our own peril.

share.newsbreak.com/bme4kx29 How sad. Indiana wants to stop free books for kids. #FUINDIANA

🧵 Elon Musk is shredding the United States government. But that’s not enough for him. Now, he wants to buy Wisconsin’s state Supreme Court as well. Help stop him: secure.actblue.com/donate/wisde...

Work really hard and you can make billionaires trillionaires. No it's not an incentive is it?

Democratic Rep. Robert Garcia has published a letter sent to him by Trump’s Department of Justice threatening to potentially prosecute him for criticizing Elon Musk.

Hard to predict where this is all headed but I don’t think you can build a successful presidency and political movement based on taking everything away from everyone as quickly as possible.

Do the people in the USA ever question the fact that they are the richest country in the world, but crime, healthcare, education, life expectancy are all like a 3rd world country. Do they not realize they are being robbed?

“The right to have access to every building in the city by private motorcar, in an age when everyone possesses such a vehicle, is actually the right to destroy the city.” -- Lewis Mumford

The IRS is expected to fire upwards of 6,000 employees as early as today. This will mean fewer audits for rich tax dodgers. According to U.S. Treasury estimates, the top 1% underpay their taxes by $163 billion every year.

A worker at Tesla's plant in Austin was electrocuted and died last summer. Now OSHA has cited Tesla for violating workplace safety rules. But the department isn't disclosing the nature of Tesla's safety failures or whether any penalties were imposed. www.reuters.com/business/aut...

The CDC has an ultra-competitive 2-year program to train "the best of the best" to lead public health labs. Most of the current class were terminated over the weekend. www.science.org/content/arti... (by @meredithwadman.bsky.social)

Elon Musk fired thousands of IRS workers in tax season, hundreds of VA health researchers and countless other civil servants doing their jobs. This rampage throws the lives of civil servants into chaos and makes life harder for every American.

“This is truly a national tragedy and one that is being executed by people who do not understand the value of scientific research.” 🧪 from @science.org

For every $1 the IRS spends auditing the top 1%, it can collect $13. For every $1 the IRS spends auditing the top 0.1%, it can collect $26. Laying off 7,000 IRS employees (during tax season) isn't about efficiency. It's about making it easier for the rich to evade taxes.

Montana is the next state to try to ban basic income pilots. They claim they want to "protect work" which is weird with all the pilots showing it increases work or has very little impact on work. It's almost like rich special interests don't want people to have the power to say no to poverty wages.
