NYC Comptroller Brad Lander: "I don't think the line for the [Democratic] party right now is between progressives and moderates; I think it's between fighters and folders."

Ok now I understand. Anna Wintour took one look at this and quit.

I get why the next Xbox is probably going to be a Windows PC. But that doesn't mean I like it! This week's newsletter: ravi64.com/xbox-windows...

One fun thing about this was it was well before OoT, so to a certain degree it felt like a "preview" of what OoT could be. It was rough and unpolished, sure, but it felt like a Zelda game done through the Mario 64 engine/gameplay. That OoT would be levels above and beyond was inconceivable to me!

Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon just blew my mind in 1997. It was so unapologetically Japanese at a time when that wasn't commonly brought west, and it was feverishly goofy. Awesome action-adventure gameplay and semi-open world to rival Ocarina of Time. And you can play as Yae the kunoichi/mermaid.

remember those guys like “the bluesky mind can’t conceive of why Cuomo might appeal to New Yorkers?” turns out New Yorkers can’t conceive of why Cuomo might appeal to New Yorkers

Not the point at all, but someday, when the dust has settled, we need to talk about how good that logo is

Tonight I'm texting Nancy Pelosi and asking HER for $5

Real talk, we lost something as a culture when we fell out of love with novelty architecture.

This is a Tusken Raider c’mon

14 seconds of pure awesomeness and anticipation with the Konami logo that has the most nostalgic punch to it for me. <3

If the air jets in the fake dart room on the Indiana Jones ride comically blast the hat off your head, Disneyland will mail it back to you in less than a week.

There was a bit of snark aimed at GameChat because it didn't seem like anything new, it was just Zoom for Switch 2. Turns out, that's exactly what it is -- and exactly why it works well. This week's newsletter: ravi64.com/gamechat-is-...

This is shocking. Pure totalitarianism from DHS, and also blatantly unconstitutional. www.newyorker.com/news/the-led...

If you, like Casey Newton, use LLMs for fact-checking, that should be disclosed directly beneath your byline

I feel like I am super bad about sharing my wins so forgive me for this brief thread... After losing my job last year, I decided to put more time into my newsletter, ravi64.com. It wasn't an alternative career, just something that felt fun and fulfilling to do in between applications and interviews

if i can be y’all’s dad for a second: one of the most important things I’ve learned is that acquiring a skill is literally uncomfortable that awful moment where you feel confused and stupid and embarrassed? it means you’re about to learn something. and it’s *mandatory* if you want to get better

LEGO Godzilla got approved and will be an official set!

I am delighted to announce that I've 3D scanned the complete Super Mario Land keshi figure series, originally released by Bandai in Japan in 1989! All 21 of these vintage Mario toys--from Daisy to Tatanga, and everyone in between--can now be downloaded here: archive.org/details/kesh...
