So the rule was, if there's a dog, you should be able to pet it. And this got misunderstood as, you add a dog so it can get pet. No, the point is, your interactions should reflect the reality of the game space; it's bigger than dogs. Anyway, if you equip a hat in Death Stranding 2 you get a choice

Of course... this could be meaningless if Microsoft manage to nail their software update and make Windows a truly console-like experience. But does anyone really believe that they'll succeed at the nth time of asking? ravi64.com/xbox-windows...

PC gaming and console gaming are two different and equally valid approaches. It's going to be fascinating to watch Microsoft try to transition an audience used to one experience to the other. ravi64.com/xbox-windows...

There are many advantages to PC gaming, but consoles are great too, and I'm not sure that story is being told here. There are a lot of people who crave a console experience that will be left behind by Microsoft shifting the Xbox to become a Windows PC. ravi64.com/xbox-windows...

There’s something just profoundly fucked about the cycle of tech bros using AI to create content and then using AI to summarize it

The best thing about GameChat is seeing your friends' screens on the bottom row, showing live streams of their games. It tickles that part of my brain that used to watch everyone else's screen in split-screen multiplayer games like GoldenEye ravi64.com/gamechat-is-...

I use GameChat for multiplayer, sure, but the thing I enjoy most is using it during single-player games. My friends and I don't get as much time to play as we used to; now we can go through our separate backlogs but still have time to catch up and chat. ravi64.com/gamechat-is-...

I think it'll happen... just not right away, to keep the focus on the interconnected world. They do feel different enough that both can co-exist, IMO.

Not to mention that there's 3-lap versions of every traditional circuit in VS mode, so they can also release a "Classic GP" mode again using things that are already in the game. They don't even NEED to create new tracks to freshen MKW up, imo.

By my count, there's 232 "tracks" in the game, but only 70-ish are used. They can pump out a whole series of new cups using tracks that are already in the game but only available in VS mode.

They can low-key freshen it up pretty easily, imo. The nature of the interconnected world means there are a TON of tracks/segments/routes/whatever you want to call them that aren't actually used. (cont.)

It has been so flattering and gratifying to see all of the love for ravi64.com here on Bluesky. This has always been such a supportive community and, after losing my job, gave me the confidence and encouragement to do something more personal. I am so grateful for that. Thank you!

But, after months of work, I'm delighted to say that my newsletter is gaining a lot of traction! April was great, May was by far the best month yet, and I'm just slightly off May's total midway through June!

I didn't see it as a traffic play, but a personal one: I wanted to write about the things I cared about. Sure, sometimes I wrote about something in the news like Switch 2 pre-orders, but only if I had a specific viewpoint to share. ravi64.com/switch-2-pre...
