My advice to you is that the best thing you can use as a martyr is a piece of soft wood. I have tried many materials on the base as martyrs over time such as leather, plastic, rubber and the best result has been wood by far. I hope I have helped you. Greetings 👌🏻

This is how I make holes. They are made in China, very very cheap, I use them frequently and they have been with me for over 5 years. They are also easy to sharpen.
