This act makes Thailand complicit in egregious human rights violations, and it must be held accountable for its role in perpetuating what amounts to an act of genocide. She is also individually responsible. Chinese news confirmed about their repatriation.

These brave, passionate individuals and activists, who dared to envision a better future for Hong Kong, are paying a heavy price—while many in the business community choose to look away from the mounting repression and do business as usual.

On a more curious note, though, knowing Uyghurs cannot even write a letter, how was she able to do this? Perhaps I am still unable to comprehend Hong Kong even in its today form, given the most oppressive environment we grew up in.

I could not help but had to fight back my tears, reading line by line. Incredibly dignified, defiant and passionate letter despite circumstance. Like all those heroes she mentioned who inspired her to keep fighting, her every word became inspiration for some to keep us fighting.
