I would rather add one more notch of topaz, then being stuck in a corner with no flexibility. Less weight with my kit, and a full 200-1260 mm range with my kit. It doesn't matter what you use, there are advantages and disadvantages to all.

Call shot in a great location. I'll bet those floorboards could tell some stories.

No disrespect meant, but this is why I seriously believe in a zoom lens. My 200 to 600 Sony is superb, sharp at any millimetre.

Thank you so much, Nic. We have had a few nests around here in Ontario and also a couple in Ohio that are excellent views. I will attach one of my images. Very, unfortunately, this tree blew over in extreme wind a few years ago. It definitely was my favourite nest location.

That's ok, I was just wondering about the area, nothing specific needed.
I live in Niagara, and I have no plans to visit the West Coast anytime soon. Though I do wish!!
tc Nic.

Very cool shot, eye level is always great. I love to see the lichen on the trees.
Just curious, what is the area?

I think the birds' ability to travel great distances and find a suitable environment, saved them from the extinction of most dinosaurs.
Fortunately, all life was not destroyed in this mass extinction.
