This is exactly why we all need to support independent media.

Lmao people finding out that just giving the bully your lunch money doesn't mean he's gonna be your friend

if they want to go back to the 1950s, we’re bringing the cuisine back to the 1950s too. you put me in the kitchen, I will spend 100% of my time in there finding how much horseradish and shrimp I can put in Jello before God personally comes down here to stop me.

Insane threats are “musings” now.

(standing in a neighborhood destroyed by fire, shouting through a bullhorn at crying families searching through the rubble of their lives) You can have money and water as soon as California declares that there are only two genders

Try to make it through life without ever been hated as much as Rudy Giuliani is by a courtroom sketch artist.

This courtroom sketch of Rudy Giuliani plastered on multiple screens after Giuliani attacked the sketch artist, in the courtroom, for making him "Look like my dog" should hang in the Guggenheim.

Deep appreciation for Rep. Stacey Plaskett calling out the colonialism that silences the voices of 4 million Americans in the District of Columbia and US territories in this Speaker selection.

waiting to see if that Cybertruck will be spun as a terrorist attack or a design innovation

President, humanitarian, strike thrower

This is so spot-on it’s scary.

Preet Bharara, you rascal!

🔥 😬 🇨🇦 Canadian House of Commons Member Charlie Angus says being next to 🇺🇸 “is like living in an apartment above a meth lab at times” and “while our taxes might be slightly higher, it doesn’t cost us a dime to go to the doctor” Well played sir

I need someone to explain to me why it’s always “if you can’t pay rent, buy fewer lattes and avocado toasts” and not “if you can’t pay your employees a living wage, buy fewer yachts and real estate”. Explain it to me like I’m in kindergarten.

I have always loved public libraries, but having young children has exponentially increased my gratitude and sense of indebtedness to them. Our local library is such a huge part of our lives. The books, the programming, the very intentionally curated kids’ section. It’s all such a gift.

Echoes here of Ben Shapiro saying that Bad Jews plague America. These people covet white nationalist freedom to hate people like themselves.

Is the War on Christmas still a thing? We talked to three scowling retirees at a Bill O'Reilly book signing in Pompano Beach.

The Nick Fuentes situation has to be the fuck around/find out scenario of the year

What are the chances that several months from now we’ll see CEO’s admit that they made this up just like they did the supposed shoplifting epidemic? www.wsj.com/personal-fin...

By picking someone icky like Hunter as a target, Trump got almost all journalists to join in the fun, rather than reporting how it happened -- the direct through-line from his extortion of Zelenskyy to the prosecution. But it was still about waging power abusively.

The weirdest part of any Christmas song is when Paul McCartney goes ‘The choir of children sing their song, they practised ALL YEAR long’ and then it turns out it’s just them saying ‘ding dong’ a few times

The inability of the entire legal system — prosecutors, judges, justices, lawyers — to hold Trump accountable will be judged one of the greatest failures of American democracy.

Oh, did he “tease” seizing other countries’ territory, @cnn.com? What a little scamp he is. What an incorrigible rascal.

The Democratic Party Sacrifices Its Young To Protect The Establishment By selecting Rep. Connolly over AOC to lead the House Oversight Committee, the Democratic Party chooses to continue the ossified status quo instead of much-needed reform & growth. thelefthook.substack.com/p/the-democr...

maybe this is just me being a dummy but I found this very helpful in crystallizing why trump likes tariffs: i do think he genuinely believes in them (mercantilism appears to be one of the few deep beliefs he really holds) but it's also a way to rework the economy along a patrimonial model

The 39th time we've had to post this, and this time about The Onion's original hometown.

Here's an idea for the Democrats: Have a victim or two of Assad's torture chambers testify at Tulsi Gabbard's confirmation hearing.

⚡️The 35-nation IAEA Board of Governors passed a resolution condemning attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure but did not explicitly name Russia as responsible, Reuters reported on Dec. 12. The emergency meeting, called by Ukraine, addressed the large-scale drone and missile attack on Nov. 28.

Unless I’m mistaken, @nytimes.com has not deigned to cover this manhattan murder at all. www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...

A friend points out that dictatorships, nowadays, also fail because they run out of money. They can't steal enough from the state to pay loyalists, wind up relying on narcotics trade or international crime (true of both Syria and Venezuela, for example) and then their soldiers stop fighting

They knew this BEFORE the election and never did these stories. They sanewashed Trump so they could have this chaos to report on. Don't reward the corporate media for the destruction they have wrought on our country.

Only in America can a parking lot lawyer go on to unsuccessfully represent a disgraced former president in court and then land themselves in the White House.😂

Bashar al-Assad to join Harvard’s Institute of Politics.

i think there’s a balance between recognizing trump isn’t a god king who will be able to do everything he says he will and acknowledging that the current state of the federal government means it’s certainly possible he could

In the spirit of government efficiency, we could skip Tulsi Gabbard's nomination and DM our intelligence directly to Vladimir Putin.

Cut him some slack he’s only had 8 years to think about this.

If we’re “subsidizing” every country we buy stuff from, are the people who buy stuff from Trump “subsidizing” him?

The key to economic growth isn’t tax cuts for the wealthy. The secret to prosperity is investment in American workers. When workers have more to spend, the economy grows, and businesses create more jobs. It’s a virtuous cycle.

I can't help but read this, the lack of immediate media outrage, and wonder if legacy media has given up or simply never cared. This is why I am expanding Democracy Docket as fearlessly independent and unapologetically pro-democracy voice. Sign-up for free. www.democracydocket.com/me-subscribe...

😂😂😂

That’s been the project since 1876.

Today in "neither our media nor our political system is designed to deal with a far right authoritarian party"

Perhaps this has something to do with why people are so angry? #MedicareForAll #UniversalHealthCare 🇺🇸

Thing abt Trump's attack on rule of law is people who get paid to be journos never push back on it. Would it kill you to say what J6C found? Would it kill you to point out it relied on testimony fr Trump's own aides (including people still working for him)? www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

Regimes seem solid until they are not. Every resistance act matters because often regimes are crumbling from within from corruption and yet good at hiding that fact. cc: Russia
