the only time i've heard of people quitting jobs and still getting paid is, gasp, when companies lost so many people that there was no one to offboard you when you quit

i'm sure the government, just down the street, will totally forget what WW does because their website is harder to use
(i got a little bit of very competent trans care here, I am very shocked by this!)

ok obvs the "was is 12 years or 20 years" is the thing the episode is messing with, but Fields says they'd been going to the lutheran church together for "some years" when the procedure was new. maybe they just found a good one! this is the most "me" thing to get hung up on haha

ok but if burt started at lumon 20 years ago at the behest of a queer-welcoming lutheran congregation, it seems like the lutheran church didn't make broader welcoming overtures until 2009? they could've been at a very progressive church i guess! (you are surely right lol, i'm just being a weirdo)

"well if this character is telling the truth about when they started working at lumon, and if i know my church history right, this means the show must be set in at least 2029..." which is normal person behavior

ok i have been thinking about this though! i imagine some of it is it would be bad for your career to be fired? and i wonder if other of it is like... i dunno, we all quit G/O instead of waiting to get laid off? like that?
