I'm delighted to be sending The Best of Everything out into the world on April 10th. If you would like to preorder I will put the link in the comments. Thank you!

Worst. Episode. EVER.

Absolutely no surprises here. Another report with the same conclusions as we see again and again, except it’s even darker now that less young people take arts subjects in state schools: www.theguardian.com/culture/2025...

Spot the gap - govt @dcmsgovuk.bsky.social review @artscouncilengland.bsky.social led by Margaret Hodge will consider impact of this national body's policies and operations on everything *other than* individual practitioners #artists #writers #dancers #musicians #photographers #communityartists

Really interesting and thoughtful sessions, as part of the great support that Axis offers to artists.

Brilliant

Yesterday, I went to hear artist Sarah Jones talk about her stick work, before she led an Imbolc ceremony to celebrate the start of Spring. We ate sun cakes and drank fresh apple juice, whilst silently considering what we don’t need anymore in our lives and what we will choose to cherish 🌞

I had a lovely time at Book Club last night, when we discussed all the books we got for Christmas and have read already, or are on our ‘to read’ pile. Reading is an escape from the state of the world as it is.

Today's Words of Wisdom from Alastair Humphreys - "The Norwegians have a phrase that encapsulates the difficulty of starting a journey. Those masters of tough expeditions have put a name to the struggle of setting out from your warm, comfortable, familiar house into the cold, frightening outdoors.."

Despite living about as far away from the sea as you can get in the UK, this is how I feel about it!

Well, this looks like a genuine email…

This is resistance. Not memes and calling him "Drumpf".

I’m part of an art project called Artlandish, which is about to open in Hereford, UK. We’ll be creating a series of exhibitions that change each week in an empty shop. This is Chris Plant’s projection based work, up in the space for our first event.

Great letter in today's Guardian. What sort of free speech is prevented by factchecking, Zuck?

I have never felt more seen!

Today, I’ve done another circus drawing and also some writing, for the first time in many weeks. The drawing is of me on a beautiful horse called Porto, performing at Circus Roncalli in Germany. The writing is about the time I fell off a trapeze and broke both of my wrists. Horses are safer imo

I am a climate scientist and this is correct ⬇️

Solidarity to everyone feeling overwhelmed by the Gisèle news today, especially those who couldn’t talk about their own experiences, those who didn’t have “evidence”, those who weren’t believed. Your experience is real, it is valid, it is not your fault.

I haven’t done any ‘proper’ writing for three weeks now, but I have finally written some Christmas cards this evening! Ho, ho, ho! 🧑🏻‍🎄🎄
