Excellent article. Like the bit about being unable to "organise" I read that as trade union organise for better working conditions, fair arts funding. But people don't have the bandwidth or energy to connect. Too busy "following their dream" and can't see the bigger picture 😢

Totally identify with this! I work in an industry (banking) where some employees' whole lives are dominated by this obsession with being seen to work hard and "live the job." The bosses hate their employees WFH & the idea that people might actually have - & enjoy - a life outside of their day job!

Yep. I like taking photos but I’ve neither the skill nor the inclination to monetise it and the second I put pressure on it needing to earn would be the second I’d stop enjoying it.
