45TH ANNIVERSARY The Beach Boys - Keepin' The Summer Alive (1980) Favourite Track: Livin' With A Heartache It's a mish mash of songs and is pretty directionless as a whole, but....there are still some absolutely wonderful songs on here that get overlooked. #thebeachboys #keepinthesummeralive

20TH ANNIVERSARY Queens Of The Stone Age - Lullabies To Paralyze (2005) Favourite Track: Tangled Up In Plaid The moment where QOTSA truly becomes Josh Homme's band. Only Mark Lanegan is present from the previous album's line-up and Lullabies is the template for what Queens would become. #qotsa

40TH ANNIVERSARY Meat Puppets - Up On The Sun (1985) Favourite Track: Away This is where the band's sound really started to take shape, the punkier elements smoothed out and the love of psych-rock and experimentation bought to the fore to create that unique sound #MeatPuppets #UpOnTheSun

35TH ANNIVERSARY Salt 'N' Pepa - Blacks' Magic (1990) Favourite Track: Let's Talk About Sex 'Black's Magic turned 35 yesterday, and is probably their most accomplished and artistically diverse record that dealt with themes of race, relationships and sex. #saltnpepa #blacksmagic

35TH ANNIVERSARY Depeche Mode - Violator (1990) Favourite Track: Enjoy The Silence 'Violator' turns 35 today and is my favourite of all their records and it's also the beginning of, what I consider, their best period encompassing 'Songs of Faith and Devotion' and 'Ultra' #depechemode #violator

All unions that are affiliated & backing #Starmer 's so-called #Labour party must stop doing so now. Labour are no longer Labour, they're just using the same name. They are as bad as the #Tories. The Unions need to support another party. And ultimately, STOP THE MONEY!!

"At some point you've got to ask, what does the Labour Party stand for?" Well said Taj Ali.

After watching Adolescence I think we now know who the two actors should be to take over the roles of Wolverine and James Bond #StephenGraham #AshleyWalters

10TH ANNIVERSARY Bad Guys - Bad Guynaecology (2015) Favourite Track: Prostitutes Saw these (bad) guys plenty of times when living in London and they always made a helluva big noise, Sabbathy riffs and Clutch-like grooves perfect for beer drinking shenanigans on a Saturday night #badguynaecology

Downing Street considers U-turn on cuts to benefits for disabled people. That would be good. People must keep up pressure. Visit your MP's surgery. Must reverse the two child benefit cap, restore winter fuel payment to pensioners below the poverty line.

10TH ANNIVERSARY Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly (2015) Favourite Track: I A raw and gritty love letter to black culture that's still accessible to a 40+ white dude living in the Highlands of Scotland....it's exactly what classic albums are made of. #kendricklamar #topimpabutterfly

20TH ANNIVERSARY Brendan Benson - The Alternative To Love (2005) Favourite Track: Feel Like Myself The third album from one of my favourite songwriters ever turns 20 today, the sublime power pop opus 'The Alternative To Love' from Brendan Benson. #BrendenBenson #TheAlternativeToLove

The UK economy contracted by 0.1% in January. Can't build a sustainable economy without improving the purchasing power of the bottom 50%. Need redistribution of income/wealth; not more austerity, real wage cuts, erosion of welfare and services. Must abandon neoliberal policies.

The main problem with our NHS for 15 years been chronic underfunding "Why are wages in the UK SO LOW compared to other developed nations? The job I do here pays £30,000 more in Australia for example and it’s nothing to do with healthcare." meme via @dailypolitik.bsky.social

At the 2024 General Election Leanne Mohamad came within 528 votes (1.1% of the total votes cast) of defeating Health Secretary Wes Streeting in Ilford North. She will unseat him with ease at the next opportunity. Tick, tick, tick.

I asked the Prime Minister if he still believes Israel is not committing genocide — but he dodged the question.

Not good enough to get a majority from voters in Bristol West but good enough for Starmer to give her a job for life. Our peerage system is a joke, except it’s not funny. Fortunately, Starmer has pledged to abolish the House of Lords (sarcasm alert).

"... far from billions in punitive cuts that the Labour Party government plans, chronically ill and disabled people actually need the support – and likely need more of it, too." 'Just as Labour wants to cut it, some crucial figures about DWP PIP have been released' www.thecanary.co/uk/news/2025...

30TH ANNIVERSARY The Presidents Of The United States Of America - Self Titled (1995) Favourite Track: Dune Buggy Released 30 years ago today this is still an unbelievably fun listen. Wall to wall bangers, stupidly fun lyrics and a real sense of creative freedom throughout.

Please sign/share Keir Starmer promised change. But today, the Labour Government has resurrected a Conservative anti-protest plan that will strip fundamental rights away from countless people. Labour's Crime & Policing Bill threatens to ban facial coverings at protests https://bit.ly/3FiYtCu 1/5

"It's a total disgrace." This 👇🏼

I see the Starmerhoids are as pathetic on here as they were on Musk's platform

Disabled people. They were never going to stop at just demonising migrants. Or the LGBT+ community. Labour will never stop feeding the Reform machine until the very few people protected are those insulated by their wealth.

Neoliberal achievements. Higher homelessness, food insecurity, malnutrition, lack of good food/housing, fuel poverty, sewage in rivers, crumbling schools. Underfunded NHS can't provide timely care. Corporations making record profits. Rich got richer in a corrupt political system.

15TH ANNIVERSARY The Besnard Lakes - The Besnard Lakes Are The Roaring Night (2010) Favourite Track: Like The Ocean, Like The Innocent: Part 2 The third album from Canadian psych-rockers The Besnard Lakes turns 15 today and still remains my favourite album in their discography. #thebesnardlakes

60TH ANNIVERSARY The Beach Boys - Today! (1965) Favourite Track: She Knows Me Too Well The moment the Beach Boys went from being adolescent popstars to grandiose musical geniuses, 'Today!' the band's eighth album in less than 4 years turns 60 (ahem..) today. #thebeachboys

50TH ANNIVERSARY David Bowie - Young Americans (1975) Favourite Track: Fame Abandoning his tried and tested glam rock phase 'Young Americans' saw Bowie embrace soul but rather than cultural appropriation this is soul on Bowie's terms, unique and refreshing. #davidbowie #youngamericans

Labour could tax the super-rich to end poverty, build social housing and fix our NHS. They are choosing to go after the worst-off instead. For a while, many people didn’t know what this government stood for. They do now: tough choices for the poor, endless money for war.

Starmer and Reeves are too short sighted to realise this. Think Starmer needs a new pair of glasses

"This is a truly shocking conflict of interest. Is Peter Mandelson visiting Palantir as a representative of the Government - or as an emissary of his ugly lobbying group looking after his own financial interests?" www.thenational.scot/news/2497842...

Apparently AI is Hamas.

Wes Streeting's plan to use private hospitals to bring down NHS waiting lists is falling apart. The private profit motive should be nowhere near healthcare provision. The Government should prioritise patients over profit with a properly-funded and staffed health service.

It's time to have a Britain owned and run by the British people, the rail, the mail, the energy, the schools, the water. The Cubans did it. the French did it.

It’s our first venture onto Bluesky’s #SocialistSunday Thought we’d start with this 😊

Israel is evil, cutting off humanitarian supplies to Gaza

Israel has announced a total blockade on food and essential supplies to Gaza, starving 2 million of basic necessities. This is a continuation of genocide. Until the government enforces a full two-way arms embargo and severs economic & diplomatic ties, it is directly complicit.
