If you are not watching Zenshu, you are missing out on one of the most creative original anime shows this season. Beautifully animated by MAPPA, it is a fantasy adventure with A LOT OF 80s and 90s nostalgia sprinkled throughout. Go give it some love.

Morning dino doodle with our protagonists meeting a T-Rex- now with feathers!

Spicing up the feed today with a fun book recommendation: Cryptid Creatures: A Field Guide by Kelly Milner Halls and illustrated by Rick Spears. It is a fun little tome filled with quick facts about the world’s most popular Cryptids. Bonus- it includes Oscar, the Beast of Busco, my personal fav.

Hey zine makers and zine librarians: Tranzmission Prison Project, an LGBTQ+-centered prison advocacy and abolition group, is looking for digital files of zines on specific topics. They will print paper copies to share. If you can help them out, please consider it! 📚

28 Days of Fright: Day 19- The Ohio Grassman Grassman appears in the latest issue of the Cincinnati Cabinet of Curiosities comics anthology out February 28th. The Grassman story was written by Jay B. Kalagayan and illustrated by Tim Fuller.

Gave myself micro bangs today because I got tired of the long ones poking my eyes. Yay? Nay?

The two watercolor studies side by side. Since these two are a team (to save their world) I wanted them to compliment each other while visually expressing their personalities.

Follow up time lapse video of my favorite mage character. The necromancer of the Dinosaur Necromancer comic.

Watercolor concept art for a short comic story currently in the works.

Helpful list of YouTube AI music channels to avoid if you stream music while working (like I do.)

Received the print proof of the third issue of Cincinnati Cabinet of Curiosities: Haunts and Horrors! It looks great and we can’t wait to debut it at our launch party at Indie Northern Kentucky and the Frogman Festival this March! Cover by talented cryptid artist @sherwinsketch88.bsky.social

Some positive news, Yeti passed obedience 1 this morning! First step to becoming a social therapy dog.

Just adding another perspective to this image: I volunteer at my kiddos school library. The library only allows check out of one copy of all their graphic novels but not because they discourage reading comics. It’s because there aren’t enough copies for all the kids to check out!

If you a fan of dogs or of saucy commentary about man’s best friend, may I introduce you to Anatomy of Dogs by @davekellett.bsky.social As a caretaker of a multi-pup household, I find the comics delightfully cheeky. Enjoy! www.kickstarter.com/projects/sma...

Little lunchtime doodle

This isn’t cheery or sexy in any way, but people should know what’s coming for 1099-K thresholds in the coming tax years for amateur and pro-am artists. The entire thread is a good read.

Second stater pack featuring black artists. It features kid lit illustrators, nature painters, comics creators, and game designers. All of who are superbly awesome and deserve a follow.

It’s a sad state in the world when I feel rich eating an egg with lunch.

My brain does not want to go into horror mode right now. For weeks now I can’t write or illustrate anything gruesome. There’s something about constant threat and tension in the real world that kills the mood entirely. Instead, I find myself drawing dinosaurs, elves, and robots. 🤖 🦖 🧝‍♀️

Bummed that I missed visiting MYP when attending school in Boston. 😩 What an amazing space MYP, Tony, and all the devoted customers have built over the years. Also, holy cats Tony, you should consider being an audiobook narrator with that voice. It’s so golden!

It was a great show, thank you to all the listeners who chimed in with questions for Lauren and I!

It is very surreal to be watching the dismantling of the United States while being advertised cooking recipes online. We’re really in 1984.
